Thanks to MonkeyPaw Games we have the next in the Arc series, and even a bit more beyond that.
First off, they delivered, just as they said they would, with Arc the Lad II, and not too long after they gave us the first one. Arc the Lad II is a bigger and better game, and that's saying a lot.
But that's not all! We also get Arc Arena: Monster Tournament in this coming PlayStation Store new game batch. This is an add-on game where a player can use his creatures captured within Arc the Lad II to battle a friend’s characters in a tournament match. You can trade items, weapons and monsters from Arc II and then fight with them. MonkeyPaw says that the games will be bundled and also sold separately.
I'm so happy to see these great old RPGs coming back.
SpikeTV sent out a new VGA teaser video today. The fifteen-second long clip, titled “Planet”, gives us a brief look at a blue planet full of mountains and water, with the narrator telling us to “Get ready to take on the planet.”
We don’t know if the clip has any relation to BioWare’s new game, Sony’s new game, Guillermo del Toro’s new game, or something new we’ve yet to hear about.
Stay tuned. The VGAs go down on December 11.

Imageepoch’s first PlayStation 3 game is for PlayStation Network title. Announced in the latest Famitsu prior to Imageepoch’s press conference tonight, Chevalier Saga Tactics is a strategy role-playing game set in Medieval Europe. An invading country has the players sending out armies to defend their territory. Each character will have a job, ranging from wizards to knights and all the more.
It features two play modes, “Strategy Mode” and “Large Scale Battle Mode”. In “Strategy Mode”, players command individual units; the latter has players commanding large armies over the network.
Imageepoch’s press conference begins in about an hour-and-thirty minutes from now. We’ll likely hear more then.
And what of the other five games? They were technically announced, but not in the way we’d hoped. Listed below, these titles are all due out in 2012; we should hear more about them next year.
Type-Moon x Imageepoch Project
Imageepoch and Fate developer Type-Moon are working on a collaborative project. Imageepoch once worked on a game in the Fate franchise for Marvelous Entertainment. This will be an all-new game, however, unrelated to the series. It’s expected to take three years to develop.
Ark Project
This is an original simulation role-playing game. It’s expected to take lesser time to develop than the Type-Moon project.
Mars Project
This is a collaborative project with a Japanese role-playing game creator. Unfortunately, it wasn’t mentioned exactly who that person is.
Remus Project
This is a classic role-playing game upgraded to match today’s hardware.
Sega x Imageepoch Project
Unlike the aforementioned games, this game will be released in 2011. Sega will serve as publisher on the game while Imageepoch develops. The game is pretty far along. A song from the game was played by a small orchestra at the press conference. Sega should make a formal announcement regarding the unnamed game in the coming future.

The Witcher 2 for consoles is still “doable”, according to CD Projekt, and if it were to happen, it would be out “a matter of months” after the PC version.
That’s according to comments made by the Polish developer to Eurogamer at last week’s Witcher 2 press conference.
“We’ve openly said our technology supports multiplatform,” said CDP CEO, Marcin Iwiński.
“On the release of the PC version, we’ll see. We know how many players, especially in the UK as well as in the US, play on Xbox 360. We are pretty good at maths. That’s all I can say for now.”
Witcher II senior producer Tomasz Gop further added in an interview with the site: “This is too difficult a question because I can’t tell you directly what’s happening inside the studio, but I want to tell you we’re doing everything we can to make sure one day The Witcher 2 will be released on the current generation of consoles.
“We already have performed a lot of tests. We’re doing a reality check every half a year or so. We take a level from the game and we try to put it inside our engine, because it’s console capable on Xbox 360 and PS3.
“It’s doable.”
And it’ll be another whopper, reckons the Janco analyst.
Janco Partners’ Mike Hickey believes it’s “likely” Take-Two will ship the next GTA in its financial 2012, which runs from April 2012-March 2013.
GTA V, or whatever it’s called, could sell 16 million copies and generate $750 million, he added.
The next in the series is rumoured to be set in Hollywood.
BioShock Infinite should release in the same 12 months, Hickey said, as reported by Gamespot, and sell around 4 million units.
Hickey believes Take-Two’s fiscal 2011 will be propped up by LA Noire and Max Payne 3. The two games are likely to be partnered by Duke Nukem Forever.
GTA IV released in April 2008. It was announced in March this year that the game had sold 15 million units globally.
GT6 on PS4 confirmed. Possibly. Maybe.
Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi has told EG he “doesn’t” know if Gran Turismo 6 will appear on PS3.
“Ten years ago it was easier to predict what would happen three years in the future,” Yamauchi said at GT5’s launch party in Madrid last night.
“Nowadays no-one knows what happens in the future. In three years, we don’t know what will happen.”
Development on GT6 has already begun, according to previous comments.
Kazunori pledged at the event last night GT5 would be ”upgrading every week, every month” to improve and update the game.
The first update coming will be to fix the racer’s online infrastructure, which caused some problems overnight.
“Online updates are planned of course for leaderboards and matchmaking – [they're] all planned in the process of evolution,” said Yamauchi.
Kazunori promised that the release of GT5 was “only the beginning of a new era for Gran Turismo.”
Spike’s gone live with another trailer teasing the VGAs, and there looks to be a great big Resident Evil hint in there.
The latest trailer further teases the “Infected” reveal with another image containing the words, “Stay Alive, Stay Alert, Report Symptoms”, being visible for a split-second if you pause the trailer when it asks you to “looks closely” at seven seconds in.
This image may crush earlier guesses that this might have to do with Valve or a new Left4Dead reveal. As you can see, the image clearly contains a BioHazard symbol.
If that’s not enough, it asks you to report symptoms. “Infected”, a BioHazard symbol and reporting symptoms: let’s add three and make ten.
Resident Evil: Raccoon City was rumoured to be in development at Slant Six – the studio behind SOCOM: Confrontation, as well as Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3 on PSP – earlier this month.
Expect another one of these before the awards: this is image two of three, as it says in the corner of the image.
You thought Kingdom was the next great thing from Crytek after Crysis 2? You thought wrong.
Crytek’s just lifted the lid of its brand new game in South Korea, known as Warface. The title will come from its Korean arm.
Only GNN are carrying info right now as well as screens, but the info seems to be Chinese.
According to Nosplay, the title is multiplayer-based, and will focus on the Asian market. Get looking here.

Activision’s gone live with a “Murder Your Maker” teaser site in advance of the VGAs on December 11, adding the final part to the puzzle of those funny barcode things in the VGA promo videos.
We have precisely no idea what this is. There’s a bald man staring at what looks to be a crime investigation on a wall. That’s it.
We’ll know soon enough. The VGAs are shaping up pretty well now, with a strong hint last night that we’re going to see a new Resident Evil game revealed at the show. A BioWare title’s been confirmed for the event

Ubisoft game developer Jade Raymond is working on Splinter Cell 6 at the publisher's Toronto studio.
Confirmation comes from Raymond herself in a new promotional video quietly released yesterday.
"We're working on Splinter Cell 6, the next iteration of the blockbuster franchise, and we're doing it entirely here in Toronto."
In May Raymond said she was working on a new Splinter Cell project with the core Conviction team, but this is the first time we've heard it described as Splinter Cell 6.
In the new video Raymond reveals 83 people have been hired. Gameplay production is "going on already". There are concept artists, animators and audio directors hard at work as we speak.
"Within the next 10 years we plan to ramp up this studio to at least 800 people, and we're ahead of schedule on that," she said.
In August Raymond, who used to produce the Assassin's Creed franchise, revealed her intention to build five triple-A games at Ubisoft Toronto. Splinter Cell 6 is one of two games currently in production.
Langdon escribió:esperemos que esta vez este Splinter Cell SI salga tambien en PS3,que no somos pocos los asiduos de Sam Fisher
Following Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s hint at a new Assassin’s Creed for 2011/12, Ubisoft EMEA chief of marketing and sales Geoffroy Sardin has confirmed a new release in the franchise for 2011.
“Yes, Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming,” Sardin told MCV. “But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin’s Creed game.”
Imageepoch, potentially the next major Japanese role-playing game powerhouse, has revealed that they’ve signed an exclusive contract with NIS America to bring their games overseas. The company recently announced two PSP titles, a PlayStation Network game for PS3, and five mystery projects all set to dazzle our RPG-fixated eyes in the coming future.
“We have a partnership with NIS America, Inc. to bring our titles to America, and I think to Europe, as well” Image Epoch CEO Ryoei Mikage told Dengeki during a recent interview.
Looks like we won’t ever have to worry about localization, then. Namco, take note.
