Sony previously teased that the company would have major announcements at E3 2014, but it seems that there will be exciting announcements for the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita throughout the entirety of the year. According to a report by NeoGAF from Jan. 30, Sony will have some exciting announcements at GDC 2014 in March.
While speaking with iGameResponsibly, PlayStation’s Brian Silva disclosed that the company is hard at work planning the company’s presence at GDC. He went on to add that GDC 2014 is something that developers and gamers should be excited about. You can find Silva’s full comment about GDC 2014 below:
GDC is the busiest week of the year for our Developer Relations group. I can’t say much, but we’ve all been hard at work with some great stuff that developers and gamers will be excited about.
At GDC 2013, Sony detailed the DualShock 4 in greater detail and discussed the system’s potential. With the PS4 now available in regions across the world, it seems likely that Sony will discuss and show new software for the PS4 along with new, upcoming features for the PS4.Of course, with Sony focusing so much in the indie development scene, new game announcements from indie developers seems like a strong possibility.
Earlier this year, Tony Clark, Director of Business Development at SCEE, posted on Twitter that Sony has a “massive” year coming in 2014 and made mention to GDC, E3, and Gamescom. You can find Clark’s full comment below:
This is such a MASSIVE year coming up! Lots on for #PS4 #PS3 #PSVita at #GDC #E3 #Gamescom and so much more! Exciting!
GDC 2014 will take place March 17th-21st.
