He was trying to redirect connections to the inner part of the EXT USB and using it with a USB non-powered Hub then to use just a male-male USB A to the EXT USB, mostly as Pandoras do.
And how do you get a stable connection. Both Ben and he, got the same results following your post in Reddit. What were they doing wrong?

Or what did they miss?
I have ordered my female USB to solder when they arrive and test too.

I didn't connected the shield of the USB cable to the ground : I didn't solder a USB femalle connector (only the 4 wires)

Umm...
for both players or just you?

and the red led stays OFF when I plug the USB cable on my PC

Ok. It's just the opposite the PCB BT does. It keeps it always on and you don't need to press power button.

I can't press the power button on the CHA, my PC doesn't power the CHA via the USB cable. It works as a generic USB controller, nothing more

So you simply stripped an USB wire soldered without shielding ground and it worked... Both players or simply P1?

P1

Ok. Maybe that's the problem. 5v may not suffice for both players and CHA PCB, but many gamepads just run with 200 mah or a bit more; they should work simultaneously.

The blueprint you put in Reddit. So, just the wiring. No female USB Sockets. That might be the problem and the insistence of using it for two players.
