Pro Evo for Xbox 360 officially announced, plus the mastermind behind the game slams England’s chances!

Konami has officially announced that Pro Evolution Soccer, the football game that true football fans love, will be kicking onto Xbox 360 later this year.

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will feature a whole host of new features like more physical contact between players, more opportunities for snap shots, more balanced referees and more ticks and feints. The Master League mode has been improved and a new International Challenge mode lets you take part in the qualification and finals of a World Cup-style competition. There’ll also be tons of Xbox Live options.

And the game’s creator and Producer at Konami Seabass (real name Shingo Takatsuka) told http://www.oxm.co.uk today that England’s chances of winning the World Cup have gone down the pan after Rooney broke his infamous metatarsal. “A few weeks back I thought England had a very good chance and would probably come second to Brazil,” Seabass told us, “but after Rooney’s injury they have dropped a long way down my list.”

We also talked Pro Evo on Xbox 360 with Seabass, and he’s confident that our version will be the best in the series yet. “We really wanted to bring Pro Evo to the Xbox 360 at launch,” he told us, “and we want to apologise to our fans that we haven’t been able to do that. However, we have been working for a very long time on Pro Evo for Xbox 360 and we’re confident that it will be great.”

Seabass promised us that the Xbox 360 version will feature far more realistic ball physics (the team has done “exhaustive research” into this apparently, which we reckon means they’ve been playing five-a-sides too much), player animations, refereeing decisions and collision detection.

One particular area he really wants to work on is the goalkeepers. “In Pro Evo when a player shoots from close range he is guaranteed to score, but in real football a keeper sometimes makes a spectacular reaction save. I want to bring those kind of goalkeeping heroics to the Xbox 360 version of Pro Evo.”

Seabass also believes that Pro Evo will help shift the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live in Japan when it launches – a view backed up by Ninety-Nine Nights producer Sangyoun Lee. “I think we’ll help the Xbox 360 in Japan because our game is so great!” laughed Seabass modestly.

So who does the genius behind Pro Evo reckon will win the World Cup? “I want to say Brazil, but it’s so boring to pick them. Plus, their strikers haven’t been performing too well lately. So I’ll pick Czech Republic – they’re ranked highly at the moment and I think they’re a very powerful team.”

If his footballing tips are of the same quality as his development skills, it might be worth laying a tenner on the red and white army… Seabass promised we’d see more of Pro Evo on Xbox 360 at August’s Tokyo Game Show, and we expect the game to be available around October.

Un pequeño inciso: En la ultima parte de la entrevista contesta a quien cree que ganara la copa del mundo, a lo que responde que le gustaria que la ganara brasil, pero que aburre elegir siempre al mismo(o al que todos dan por seguro ganador) y que ademas los delanteros brasileños estan muy negados ultimamente, por lo que apuesta por la republica checa.

Que respiro al leer esta entrevista, y sobre todo con la fecha de lanzamiento que dan. Pues nada chicos, a esperar 3 meses al TGS

GTA 4 es en octubre de 2007, NO en 2006.

Joé que respiro, versión currada para nuestra 360, este juego es el único por elque compro o dejo de comprar una consola

La verdad que lo estan haciendo bien, en el E3 están presentando todos los juegos tipo occidental y en el TGS a meter caña con los juegos japos.

Creeis que volveran a hacer lo del tatuaje pero con algo debajo del brazo como DQ o FF jejee

Yo opino igual, es rarisimo que un juego que despierta interes como el Winning Eleven 2007 Pro Evolution Soccer no hayan grabado aun el supuesto video que Meristation dice que vió, esto del video pinta muy fake

La de videos que aun no estan en la red es impresionante, hay una cantidad de juegos espectacular en el E3 y casi no vemos videos ni de la mitad, de todas formas pensar que si fue una demo privada es dificil que alguien grabara.

May 12, 2006 - Eventually, it had to happen. Not even Konami is silly enough to brand its award-winning soccer title Winning Eleven 11 -- just sounds funny. So, in an attempt to merge the North American Winning Eleven brand with the European Pro Evolution brand, Konami proudly unveiled Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007. Despite the longest name of a sports game around, the early build of the new WE title played very well this week at E3 on a Playstation 2. We were eager to see the 360 version of the game but it didn't make an appearance. Still, we got some details for you.

Konami has procured licenses for 20 more teams this year, including the full roster of Argentina and, finally, the Netherlands. While WE9 was the first title in the franchise to go online, WE2007 will offer online play on all platforms, including handhelds and Xbox 360. The title also offers a new International Challenge mode that Konami says is a grand tournament featuring the world's best international teams. Sound familiar?

We pitted England against the Netherlands on the PS2 and came away very impressed. Fans of the series will not be surprised that Konami continued its trend of subtle tweaks and adjustments, going with the "if-it-aint-broke" philosophy once again with WE. The game speed is a tad faster than last year and the animations are still sublime. Based on what we played of WE2007 versus EA's World Cup title released last month, WE is still the king of videogame soccer, at least on the PS2. We'll have to wait and see how it shapes up the nice effort EA put forth with 2006 FIFA World Cup.

I dispatched the Netherlands 2-1 thanks to an amazing Michael Owen header to go up 1-0, and a Beckham shot that rebounded off the keeper and into Wayne Rooney's possession for a quick chip and 2-0 lead. Ruud van Nistelrooy answered with a powerful shot off the post to get his team within one just before time expired.

I noticed a few minor control changes from last year's WE9. When in the corner, the O button on PS2 (B on Xbox) would automatically be a center cross. This time around, you have to select which player to pass to. So if you're at the top corner and hit down and O, you'll pass to the center of the pitch. But if you aim toward the top of the box, you can pass the ball back instead of going right at goal. It's subtle, but a good idea and extra level of control that probably should have always been in the game.

Of course, what remains constant in the franchise are spectacular goals that induce fist-pumps and victorious yelps of joy. We'll have more on WE2007 as it approaches its January release date.

esto quiere decir q estaban impacientes por ver algo del de xbox360, pero q no a echo aparicion no? porq si quiere decir esto... meristation nos la ha jugado

Las imagenes estan muy bien pero si observais con detenimiento al publico de fondo se ve claramente q siguen estando exos de carton-piedra

Y si sale aqui en octubre lo mismo en agosto o antes lo tenemos japones y podemos hacer algo por ahi.

Lo que es una pena esque un mundial como este tan importante , y que solo es cada 4 años y no podamos disfrutar de un juego decente de futbol en la 360 y eso que salio ya hace 6 meses, no lo puedo enterder con las masas que mueve el futbol .

Ya le vale a microsoft no haber acordado con alguna compañia un buen juego para el mundial .

En fin si quiero jugar un españa brasil , me quedare jugando con los que nunca fallan . KONAMI WINNING ELEVEN 10 DE PS2 , que a salido hace poscos dias y dejando los graficos y las limitaciones de la maquina aparte , es el mejor juego de futbol de la historia .
