07. 09/11/2024: Ys VII: Lacrimosa of Dana / Tercer Ys que me paso este año. Mantiene la base jugable de Seven y Celceta, jugabilidad frenética con tres personajes jugables intercambiables al vuelo y sistema de debilidades por habilidades, toneladas de crafteo, mazmorreo y exploración. Muy divertido aunque veo cierto estancamiento en la fórmula. Veremos más adelante con los juegos que han ido sacando posteriormente, que tengo pendientes pero no creo que juegue en los próximos meses.

Técnicamente es un juego bastante flojo. Menos mal que al menos va a 4K 60fps pero es que qué menos con esas texturas tan pobres. No es que se vea mal pero es un juego de PS Vita y canta en algunos puntos. La banda sonora es muy buena, como siempre en esta saga. Animada y cañera.

El argumento, con ese toque "Lost" de un naufragio, tener que ir encontrando supervivientes.. Se hace interesante. Le da un puntito que otros Ys no tienen, queda original. Luego desbarra como todo en los RPG japoneses y terminamos salvando el mundo por enésima vez.

Lo que sí me ha parecido es que es bastante facilón. Algo más duro al principio cuando tenemos bajo nivel y nos toca pelear contra bosses con cierta frecuencia (es un juego con un ritmo argumental más acelerado al principio) pero a medida que se va haciendo acopio de medicinas se va haciendo un juego más fácil.

Le pongo una valoración un poco más baja que a Seven y Celceta, pese a no haberme gustado menos. Es el primer Ys que juego en sobremesa (aunque ha decir verdad lo he juegado sobre todo mediante Streaming en la Ayn Odin) y habría esperado un poco más de calidad en el apartado técnico.

06. 04/09/2024: Yakuza 6: The Song of Life / Después de la relativa decepción que resultó Yakuza 5 (del que todo el mundo hablaba maravillas) ha sido reconfortante encontrarse con Yakuza 6. Todo lo que me disgustó del 5 con su historia dispersa y estirada y demasiados personajes, problemas técnicos derivados de ser un remaster de un juego de Playstation 3... Han quedado resueltos con esta última entrega de la saga Kiryu. Un juego con una historia más concentrada en la que los capítulos van pasando a buen ritmo, centrado en ese Jesucristo reencarnado que es el Dragon de Dojima (no se puede ser más buena persona) y con un nivel gráfico propio de un juego concebido para Playstation 4.

Me ha gustado mucho la trama, el hijo de Haruka y el secreto de Onimichi (qué ida de olla) son buenos elementos conductores de la misma y contamos con unos malos malísimos. Quizá no a la altura del gran Ryuji Goda, pero con un toque de crueldad más fino y sutil. Tronchante como siempre Takeshi Kitano, haciendo la misma clase de personajes que suele hacer en sus películas, esos mafiosos hieráticos pero graciosos de trasfondo trágico. Y todo aderezado con ese toque homoerótico que tanta gracia hace a los japoneses (y a mí también, para que negarlo) con la sorpresa de ver convertido el Club Stardust en un local de prostitutos coreanos y mención especial a la SubStory "The Prince of Kabedon" y el momento ¿incómodo? de Kiryu seduciendo a un travesti.

Mi Yakuza favorito sigue siendo Kiwami 2, pero este ha estado a la altura. Me gusta que un juego sea capaz de contar una buena historia sin irse a las 80-100 horas. En mi caso, 28. Creo que es el Yakuza que más rápido me he pasado, en menos de 2 meses. Suelo tener poco tiempo para jugar.

Ahora dejaré la saga en barbecho un tiempo, creo que me pondré con el Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. Me apetece ir alternando Ys con Yakuza, son juegos que me gustan y en los que me siento cómodo. La cosa es que cuando retome Yakuza, no sabré por donde tirar, si el 0 (este me da miedo que me pase lo mismo que con el 5, que todo el mundo lo pone de maravilla y a mí no me gustó tanto por largo y estirado), si el Judgement, si el Ishin, si el Lost Paradise o el Like a Dragon. El que me apetece mucho es el Gaiden, pero creo que tiene sentido sólo jugarlo después de Like a Dragon.

05. 16/07/2024: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim / Me ha gustado, pero me ha dejado una sensación agridulce. Muy bonito técnicamente con ese tono de cuento, preciosa música... pero son 40 horas de visual novel. Demasiadas, para una historia que es un pastiche de los grandes mitos Sci/Fi del cine (Terminator, Alien, Matrix...) y que a mí al menos me ha acabado volviendo loco con tanto cambio temporal, dimensiones... Y 13 personajes se me antojan demasiados ya que acabas perdiendo el hilo. Lo que tiene bueno es que son capitulitos cortos y se hace cómodo de jugar.

Pero lo dicho, todo el mundo hablaba maravillas de la historia y a mí me ha parecido un "MEH" como una catedral.

Está curioso el modo RTS. Modo que por cierto, ponía todo el mundo a caer de un burro y a mí, que no he jugado nunca a ellos, me ha gustado bastante. Me he picado y he sacado "S" en todas las misiones, lo que ha hecho que haya sacado el primer Platino de mi vida.

No pienso adentrarme en la 4ª zona de batallas. Curioso que se pueda platinar el juego sin completarla.

04. 08/05/2024: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot / Pues ya he completados los dos juegos de las series de Anime de mi infancia, Captain Tsubasa (el juego me lo pasé el año pasado y me pareció un truño) y Dragon Ball. Este juego es algo mejor, pero quitando la ambientación (recrea bien la atmósfera de la serie) me ha parecido un juego bastante plano y mediocre. No diré que malo, pero sin los personajes de Toriyama sería un juego de 5 raspado.

Misiones secundarias algo pesadas y necesidad de bastante grindeo (la mecánica de recoger pelotitas es ridícula, los encuentros genéricos no aportan EXP), curiosamente la parte del juego que mejor sabor de boca me ha dejado ha sido el último capítulo, el de Buu, por tener algo más de ritmo que las otras. La de Namek, mi preferida, me aburrió bastante más.

No creo que me adentre en el postgame para sacar el jefe secreto ni completar secundarias.

03. 06/04/2024: Ys Seven / Después de pasarme el Celceta y gustarme tanto le dí una oportunidad al Seven y sin decir que me ha gustado más, no podría decir que me haya gustado menos. Es un juego fantástico, puro frenetismo ARPG. A la que le coges el punto arrasas a toda clase de criaturas a tope de velocidad. Como siempre, la historia en estos juegos es lo de menos, pero técnica y jugablemente es magnífico. De lo mejorcito en PSP, que le sienta como un guante. Gran juego, tengo ya pendientes Lacrimosa y Nostrum, que tengo ya comprados para PS5.

02. 25/01/2023: Yakuza 5 Remastered / Me ha costado, pero al final le he dado pasaporte a la The Yakuza Remastered Collection después de casi 4 años desde que lo compré. Después de jugar a los Kiwami 1 y 2 se me han hecho un poco cuesta arriba por que son juegos portados casi tal cual de PS3 a PS4 y se les ven bastante las costuras, pese a ser juegos de buena factura técnica. Canta más en el 3, pero el 4 y el 5 dan muy bien el tipo en la PS4.

Es un buen juego, largo (se ha quedado en 77 horas con un 38% completado) y con el divertido sistema de juego de siempre con el que me siento muy cómodo, pero el hecho de dividir la historia en 5 personajes jugables termina por embrollarlo todo demasiado. El combate final sosísimo, con el peor villano de toda la serie. Y un final muy abrupto.

Los side stories bastante sin más las del Taxi de Kiryu-chan, horrorosa la caza de Saejima, pasable el baseball de Shinada y muy divertido el proceso de convertirse en Idol de Haruka. Los duelos con T-Set me han parecido lo mejor del juego, intensos y emocionantes.

Mi Yakuza preferido por el momento, y de largo además, sigue siendo el Kiwami 2. Tengo un backlog terrible con esta serie, tengo comprados y pendientes el 6, el 0, el Ishin!, 7 Like a Dragon, el Gaiden, los dos Judgement, el Lost Paradise... Y ahora llega el 8 Infinite Wealth... Pero creo que de momento voy a aparcar un poco la saga por unos meses y ponerme con el 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim y el Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

01. 03/01/2023: Ys: Memories of Celceta / Resulta que mi cuñado acaba de vender su PS Vita y a mí me ha dado por comprobar la mía después de un tiempo sin encenderla. La consola está perfecta y repasando lo que tengo instalado en ella (es la única consola para la que no he comprado juegos en físico, me compré una tarjeta oficial de 64 GB traída desde Japón y tiraba de ofertas de la Store) me dio por entrar a este juego. Tenía una partida con 16 horas justo antes de enfrentarme al boss Krell-Emecia del año 2018 (compré el juego en 2015, por lo que he visto en mis logros). No conseguía pasarme a ese boss hasta que esta vez me ha dado por volver hacia atrás a un pueblo, cargarme de pociones curativas y de esta forma lo pude pasar. He seguido jugando, jugando, jugando... Hasta pasarme el juego con 31 horas de juego total. Es un juego que engancha porque tiene buen control y resulta muy relajante matar grupos de bichos tras grupos de bichos, descubrir partes del mapa, enfrentarte a bosses, adquirir nuevas habilidades e inventario... Te enganchas y pasan las horas volando sin darte cuenta. En cosa de una semana le he metido 15 horas hasta acabármelo, menos mal que estaba de vacaciones.

Es un juego bien construido, gráficos correctos para Vita y muy buena OST, cañera. Guion olvidable (como casi en todo el rol japonés por mucho que digan) y muy divertido de jugar. Me lo compré en su día por las buenas reseñas que tuvo y porque el catálogo de Vita tampoco es que esté repleto de juegazos (los tiene, pero pocos para lo que pudo haber sido) no porque hubiera jugado previamente a ningún YS.

Y el reencuentro con la PS Vita ha sido una grata sorpresa también. Qué consola tan bien construida, que pantalla OLED y qué cómoda es, al menos para mí. Eso sí, si me da por jugar al Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana no creo que me lo pille para la Vita. Sigue estando en venta en su Store pero me da no sé qué pagar 39,90€ por un juego de 2016 para una consola que vete a saber cuanto me dura. Me lo compraría para PS5 si se da el caso.

Juego con aroma a 128 bits basado en el combate a esgrima con un sistema tipo Arkham que se basa principalmente en la esquiva, el parry y el uso de elementos del entorno que se dividen en dos categorías: Elementos arrojadizos (pueden ser pequeños objetos agarrables o grandes a los que hay que patear) y elementos fijos a los que empujar de una patada a los enemigos (mesas, escaleras, lanceros...).

Pros:

- Estilo caricaturesco que le sienta de lujo y ambientación mosquetera.
- Es un juego que va directo y al grano, para pasar un par de tardes divertidas y cumple de sobra con ello. Cuatro capítulos que consisten en un tutorial de 30 minutos y otros tres capítulos de 50-60 minutos.
- Combate muy divertido reforzado con mucho humor gráfico.

Contras:

- El fijado en combate a veces hace algún extraño y algunos enemigos hacen "trampas" que no me han gustado como "deslizarse" casi como un teletransporte para asestarte el golpe que habían iniciado aunque tu personaje esté fuera de su rango.
- Te lanza todas las buenas ideas en el tutorial y los otros tres capítulos apenas añaden algún elemento nuevo.
- Me gusta que hayan metido plataformeo pero es demasiado básico por cierta tosquedad y un diseño de niveles que no es el punto fuerte.
- La historia es prescindible.


En definitiva, es un buen juego con un sistema de combate muy divertido pero con algunas carencias que sin duda achaco a la falta de presupuesto. Da rabia pensar que con mayor presupuesto hubieran podido añadir más enemigos, elementos interactivos, mejorar el plataformeo y poder desarrollar un juego con estas mismas bases tan buenas pero más redondo y conducido por una historia interesante. Sea como sea, muy recomendable y más teniendo en cuenta su duración.

SILENT HILL 2 (2024): 8

No era nada fácil para un estudio como Bloober Team asumir un remake de un juego tan idolatrado como Silent Hill 2, y aunque no me gustó tanto como a mucha gente, sí me parece que han hecho un muy buen juego, y de largo mejor de lo que se podía intuir por el pésimo gameplay de presentación.
Primero todo lo bueno, que es mayoría. El primer punto a favor es muy obvio: la fuerza de Silent Hill es su historia, y Bloober Team ha entendido que no había que tocarla ni un pelo. Además, los modelos y las cinematicas están bien escogidos y dirigidos, el doblaje es sublime, y todo funciona a la perfección ahí. Otros puntos claves de Silent Hill, ambientación y sonido, vuelven a brillar muy fuerte. Visualmente es un juego cuidado y potente, y a nivel sonoro vuelve a ser excelente, recordando mucho al original pero con algunas vueltas de tuerca estupendas. Y por último, se han modificado y ampliado notablemente todas las localizaciones, pero todas mantienen no sólo guiños, sino la esencia del original, pero ampliadas y, casi siempre, mejoradas. Apartamentos, hospital y hotel se mantienen como emplazamientos icónicos y dificiles de igualar, en su conjunto, por ningún otro juego del género. La prisión sigue estando por debajo, pero la mejora es notable. Y el combate ha mejorado (sólo faltaría), y aunque sigue sin brillar resulta mucho más competente.
Lo malo, lo que me gustó menos: primero ese combate que digo. Sí, es cierto, está mejorado, pero tal vez no tanto para la cantidad que le han puesto. No es un juego dificil (por que da mucha, mucha munición, y muchísimos objetos curativos, me terminaron sobrando más de 20) pero sí se me terminó por hacer un poco pesado el estar combatiendo con sus 4 únicos enémigos (cuyo diseño, eso sí, vuelve a ser muy bueno) tanto tiempo, y las partes más memorables me parecen aquellas en las que se dosifican mejor, como el hotel. El segundo punto que se me hizo algo de bola fue el tramo que hay desde que sales del hospital hasta que entras en el hotel. Cierto que la prisión se salva bastante, pero viene de un tramo ya muy largo y anodino de viajar por las calles y sigue teniendo un nivel de carisma menor que el resto de localizaciones, y culmina con un laberinto MUY ampliado y para mí, muy poco interesante. Por suerte, el tramo final me vuelve a reconciliar con el juego y me deja un estupendo sabor de boca.
No me ha gustado tanto como lo que hizo Capcom con el remake Resident Evil 2 (gustándome mucho más el Silent Hill 2 original que el RE2 del 98), pero ha sido una gran experiencia, y espero que el resurgir de la saga no se quede aquí (imagino que dependerá de que "F" salga igual de bien).

46. Dolphin Blue (X2 Pro Arcade Atomiswave): 6. “A qué no hay cojones a hacer un Metal Slug donde el prota vaya subido a lomos de un delfin”. Suena bien pero su gran dificultad le resta puntos y diversión.

En su dia lo tube para 3DS, lo que pasa es que el control era tan horrible que lo deje nada mas empezar. La verdad que en este remaster grafico el control tampoco es que sea exquisito pero bueno, una vez lo dominas se juega bien.

Sobre el juego en si me ha gustado bastante, hay puzzles muy originales y sin ser un juego complicado creo que esta bien equilibrada la dificultad. Lo que si no me ha gustado para nada es el sistema de misiones y el ir repitiendo una y otra vez. Entiendo que este sistema era asi para que funcionara en 3DS pero para mi es la peor parte.

La estela de remakes de la clásica saga Resident Evil nos deja una continuación a la magistral segunda parte que se queda en la sombra. El juego es muy continuista, tomando parte en Racoon City y jugándose del mismo modo. Es un juego que entretiene pero el remake del 2 dejó el listón muy alto y esta tercera parte no ha logrado cuajar igual de bien. Unos puzles excesivamente mediocres y prácticamente inexistentes (una pena ya que suelen ser una seña característica de la casa), unido a un gameplay repetitivo que hacia su recta final se excede en hordas de zombis, una duración demasiado corta, historia simplona que nunca termina de enganchar, además del hecho de haber cortado partes del juego original, le hacen quedarse muy por debajo del remake del 2.

No llegué a completar el título original de PSX, algo que tengo pendiente para así poder analizar profundamente lo fiel que es este remake al original. El remake del 2 me pareció soberbio, conservando toda la esencia que hizo especial al juego lanzado hace más de 2 décadas y ofreciendo algo fresco y adaptado a los nuevos tiempos. Se nota que el remake del 3 intenta aprovecharse del éxito cosechado del remake previo para así reavivar la saga. El juego luce de escándalo en Series S, su uso de iluminación, reflejos y sombras te mete de lleno en Racoon City. Aquí el protagonista es sin duda Nemesis, quien no se cansará de acecharnos continuamente. Al principio mola, ya que te pone en tensión constantemente, pero pasadas unas horas empiezan a resultar repetitivas sus apariciones. Además de los zombis nos toparemos con nuevos enemigos, alguno de ellos muy cansinos, especialmente hacia la recta final del juego donde se exceden en la acción y nos lanzan exceso de enemigos, sintiéndose así el juego más como un juego de acción que de terror. Se desencamina un poco y pierde la esencia.

La historia es simplona con ganas, nunca se profundiza con ningún personaje y a pesar de que tanto Jill como Carlos (principales protagonistas de esta historia) se les coge cariño, nunca terminas de atarte emocionalmente. Algo que he echado en falta son los puzles, algo que siempre ha caracterizado la saga y aquí apenas hacen aparición y cuando lo hacen solventarlos es pan comido. Pese al mimo en los escenarios y gráficos, parece que este Resident Evil se ha sacado con prisas, obviando muchas partes del juego original y sin llegar a ofrecer la full experience que sí ofreció Resident Evil 2. Para nada es mal juego, pero creo que podía haber ofrecido mucho más teniendo el potencial que se le podía haber sacado.

Vaya dos juegarrales, espectaculares los dos, y una maravilla. Muy diferentes ambos, adulto, maduro, oscuro, tenso y en general un juegazo redondisimo y espectacular el Silent Hill (mi primer juego de la saga) y un divertidisimo, fresco y nostálgico Astrobot con un juego como los de hace años pero mejor.

Por juegos como este jugar sigue siendo uno de mis grandes placeres [beer]

juego completado en 79:30hs viendo el final bueno. me ha gustado mucho, sinceramente, aunque argumentalmente es flojo y el combate final es exageradamente pesado. me quedo sobre todo con la música y el sistema de combate.

52. Knights of the Round (XsS): 7. Seguimos con más arcades notables de capcom, este de 1991 y de temática medieval. Introduce con acierto un sistema de subida de niveles donde se modifica la armadura y arma del personaje de forma automática.

El juego me lo he pasado streameando en local con la Rog Ally. Una maravilla estos cacharros.
Y como va acabando el año, hago un repaso a mis juegos completados este año, y me decido a hacer un top personal como los Game Awards. Estos serían mis 6 nominados:

decepcionante. no puedo decir otra cosa de este juego. claro que tal vez haya sido culpa mía por tener las expectativas hacia él tan exageradamente altas. para mi es sin ninguna duda la mayor decepción del año y una de las mayores hostias que me he llevado junto con MGSV. y eso que he jugado siete DQ numerados incluido este, y el XI está en el top 10-15 de mi vida. y el año pasado mi Goty particular fue para Octopath Traveler II. pero en fin, cosas que pasan.

Posiblemente el peli-juego más redondo de David Cage y Quatic Dream, que mantiene un buen nivel en la historia, personajes potentes y una conclusión satisfactoria, que es el mayor fallo que han tenido los juegos de Quantic. Farenheit quizá sea el mejor si no es por la terrible fumada del último cuarto (pero es tan bueno el principio...), Heavy Rain es igualmente excelente y consigue tocar fuerte las emociones aunque es demasiado tramposo en su historia y Beyond por su parte me parece un patinazo tremendo. Aquí noto que se resuelven esos problemas que suele tener Quatic Dream para finalizar sus historias.

La historia sobre el despertar de la conciencia de los androides, los miedos de la humanidad y el trasfondo social que marca me ha parecido potente, bien narrado, con un ritmo constante y con tres personajes protagonistas bien desarrollados:

- La parte de Kara es la más emocional y hace presenciar momentos realmente impactantes.
- Connor es un personaje con una evolución notable puesto que parte de ser el androide más puro en sus funciones y su relación con su compañero detective está bien llevada como catalizador. Su parte jugable es la que más me ha gustado porque tiene toques leves de una aventura gráfica clásica gracias a su función de detective caza divergentes.
- Marcus por su parte tiene una presentación excelente para poner en contexto su historia posterior que realmente es la conductora principal del juego, ya que es el líder de la revolución. De su parte hubiera agradecido que se mostrara más el como se monta y desarrolla la misma.

Una cosa que me ha gustado bastante y no sé si es algo hecho adrede es que he notado tanto en Connor como en Marcus reminiscencias al personaje de Daneel Olivaw de Asimov, especialmente en la parte de Connor tanto por como es el personaje como por su relación con el detective humano que también me recuerda en parte al Elijah Baley, de las mismas novelas de Asimov.

Por último, una de las cosas que realmente valoro positivamente de este juego es que en está ocasión si tengo la sensación de que las decisiones tomadas importan y pueden llevar la historia a lugares bastante distintos e incluso totalmente opuestos. En mi partida he seguido lo que pensaba que era la opción más coherente y tratando de llevar a los personajes a un punto distinto al de partida y he quedado contento con el resultado. Al ser un juego corto (8-10 horas) volveré a jugar más adelante para comprobar si es tal y como pienso.
Todo lo terminado a falta de 1 mes para terminar el año.
