What is MSX?
(mainly written by Marat Fayzullin [fms@cs.umd.edu], updates by M.B.)
MSX is an old Z80-based family of home computers which appeared in autumn 1983 as an attempt to establish a single standard in home computing similar to VHS in video. They were popular in Asian (Korea, Japan) and South American (Brazil, Chile) countries as well as in Europe (Netherlands, France, Spain, Finland) and former Soviet Union, but they are virtually unknown in USA. Although the MSX standard quietly died from year 1988, the world got to see MSX2, MSX2+ and TurboR extensions of it.

Before the appearance and great success of Nintendo's Family Computer, MSX was the platform for which major Japanese game studios, such as Konami and Hudson Soft, produced their titles. The Metal Gear series was originally written for MSX hardware
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSXThe status of the Xtras is at a very early stage, with only around 600 or so games tested on Xbox. I have found that the compatibility of BlueMSX is excellent and only a few have not worked. There are a few that have some screen flicker/bouncing problems that maybe Madmab could fix in the future.
I have been working from the MSX and MSX 2 No-Intro sets for the carts, and using the offlinelist (thanks madmab) for the disks.
Having never actually owned an MSX myself, I could use help on getting a best of games list from members (post a txt file list).
Could also use help finding missing box art, or someone to make a "no-boxart" image.
