Aca les pongo un review de un pata que vive en Hong Hong y ya lo jugó hoy ..
OK... I played 3 hours on 5 stars, National, Club, and All-Stars. Here are some initial impressions.. if you have any specific questions I will try to find out for you...
1) I loaded the WE6 option file, and most of the names are ok, but you have to edit the shirt names separately I think... Diouf seems to be mispelt on his shirt still.
2) The squads seem VERY up-to-date... Baros is at Liverpool, Diouf does a Senagalese dance goal celebration!!!! Holland are still Oranges!!! Ronaldhino looks great (well, as great as in real life)
3) Club names are defaulted to be correct... Liverpool are not Europort, etc.
4) Boots galore... but have not checked the editor.
Ball physics:
Slight improvement, u still get random deflections, but the ball is less "alive" than PES2... feels about right... so no need to worry here
Crosses zip into the box, and are very dangerous!!! They show more swing as well. No floaty crosses like PES2, so getting to the by-line is a big advantage again. You can actually head the ball into the goal if the timing is spot on...
Cross-field passes are also less floaty and are faster, meaning that you can effectively make space by switching (unlike PES2)
Player physics:
BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG improvement on collision engine. Players have momentum again... start off slow but accelerate to top speed. In PES2 (unedited version) you seemed to be instantaneously fast... not anymore... at first the momentum felt like WE5 (if u remember this)... Owen is fast!!!
If someone knocks into you, u really slow down... and you even veer off direction. You can shove people to force them off the ball much more than previously... or guide players off the pitch by unbalancing them.... If you are behind a player, there is almost no chance of getting around him to rob him of the ball... the players seem more physically solid.
seriously, this seems like a huge improvement to me...
An example of the tussling... the ball was outside the area... I wanted to run in for a first time shot... a defender gets between me and the ball... and basically I can't get around him and my speed drops to near zero... then they clear the ball!!!!
Fast recovery from tackles AND headers, where you have dropped to the ground.
Animation is much smoother. No slowdown during play.. I am playing widest view ... Noticed slowdown once during a replay, but nothing serious...
Dribbling:
Worried about PES2 super dribbling? Well, first thing i tried was the zigzag dribble... it seems to be more effective than WE6, but nowhere near as easy as PES2... the reason being that if you try it in midfield an extra midfield player seems to cover your tracks... cutting back does seem too effective still though, although the lack of extra speed seems to make it less deadly than PES2...
Defence
I have not seen the Red Sea - Moses bug in the defence yet (In PES2, the last defenders sometimes run towards the corner flag!!!). Players behave well so far. Seems to have been tweaked to make X more effective again (feels like PES2 with showusmiracle lowered stats).. the bias is in the defenders' favour, for sure, although you want to stop Overmars before he starts sprinting at full pace... Kluivert is also very fast and strong, so knocking him off the ball is very difficult. Also, the Argies are really skilful... but not SUPER fast, so they can weave around, and as a defender you have to shepherd him, or gang up on him ([] + X), to retrieve the ball.
The defenders by default seem to play tighter together and player selection (almost manual for me) works much better... no complaints about the defense at all...
Goalies
New animations... as the ball goes wide, you see the goalie lean to shepherd the ball out, or watch him wave his hand dismissively to say that it's going wide... looks ace!!!
Goalies seemed to be improved... not that may chances to score, but they all behaved correctly.
Miscellaneous:
New animation - if the ball goes out because of a bad pass the intended receiver raises his hand in disgust!!!
Difficulty:
Against very good sides, you get seriously punished for sloppy play. Defending crosses is much harder as they are realistically effective during counter-attacks... Scorelines for me were quite low... Easier to defend... harder to attack...
Preguntas y Respuestas :
Does Beckhams hair look like it does IRL?
Yes... the screenshot posted on the web of Beckam with scruffy think hair, tackling Vieri of Italy, is a PS2 screenshot... it;s in the manual. Hair looks good for Becks...
Is the club list the same as WE6/PES2?
Quick glance... looks the same... but more up-to-date players.. Bellamy defaulted to play in Wales starting line-up, etc...
Graphics ?
The textures are better... I forgot to mention... pitch looks more real.. players' chests look chunkier... players are less skinny than in PES2...
Certain players now look awesome... Dudek, Ortega, Beckham etc.
The in-goal replay camera angle differs depending on where the shot came from ..
Gameplay and shirt names?
Dribbling.. I prefer WE6 dribbling more, where zigzag dribbling or cutting back was less effective...
Don't like the fact that the shirt name does not follow the player name... u hav to edit both (WHY???? Unless there is an option to auto-sync the two, but i doubt it)
The R2 tackling stance of PES2 seems to have gone...
Revision:
The crap club team names are there by default.. but the WE6 option file corrects them....
How is the speed of defenders compared to attackers? In We6 defenders were even faster than you with the ball if you controlled Owen. In Pes2 it was more realistic.
Is shooting hard? How fast are the shots?
Speed is realistic... only certain players (Neuville, Owen) are very fast
You can't catch them if they go past you... even X tugging is less effective if they are already past you .. however, X tackling is very powerful, if you are facing them, like in WE6, so you still have a chance as a defender... just don't let players get into their stride
Shooting is perfect... shots from outside the area are like PES2 in power, but harder to get a clear shot, as the defenders push up to block the shot from outside the area... better than PES2, where they just man mark strikers...
how are free kicks? easier/harder than PSE2
Same as PES2... Beckham has a distinct advantage again.. only had 4 freekicks though!!
Are the camera angle choices the same? I always wanted an
angle.distance that was between wide and broadcasting!!
Near
Middle
Far
Wide
TV (lower and closer than wide)
TV2 (even lower like Highbury)
TV2 alternate (same as TV2 but occassionally cuts to close up of player, like in TV!!!)
Vertical Near
Vertical Middle
Vertical Far
how are the crowd sounds? more variety than PES2 i hope!
Sounds OK... not sure though...
does the individual player rating at the end look good?
Does it give indivl rating for pass completion, area covered etc?
Not sure yet... i will check
does the CPU give a good game in 1P?
Yes... scoring is harder (fewer chances)... defences are stronger over all
Im getting it delivered from GOblin DIrect next week i think, so i need some info to keep me going until then!!! PES2 looks like being confined to the shelf soon!
, editing names twice. Sounds even more irritating. That aside, it sounds as if Nokami really don't care about European gamers.
Confirmed... the player name is different from the shirt name in the editor
Hold on a second are Menus Japanese or English????
Confirmed... there are 3 options in the name section...
1) Normal display name
2) Something - might be commentary name
3) Shirt Name
So i know youve onloy just got it, but on first impressions , how does it rate against PES2, WE6, WE6 JL ????
OK... stats at the end of the game are VERY comprehensive and comprise 3 screens
1) normal team stats seen in WE6
2) team possession and "C.something" percentage (split into 15 min, e.g. 0-15, 15-30, 30-45 min, etc intervals
3) individual players get an overall rating out of 10 on performance, and shows time they played
4) clicking a player name shows detailed pass completion, shots, goals, area of influence, other aspects related to area of pitch covered (guessing here), tackles successful... it's quite amazing to be honest... and I think it will affect ML and Cup tournaments, maybe...
You do have to edit these separately...
All menus in Jap
Guys, can someone explain to me how i can go about loading my WE6 option file on WE6FE???
And how does the Goal nets animate??? are they as smooth and responsive as they are in WE6.
And is Ronaldo in the Brazilian squad? with his World Cup Haircut? how real is his model?
In the main screen, go to last option.... then select the first option of new screen... you see WE6 as one of the options... click it... DONE!!!
Goal nets are fine... no need to worry... graphically, it's an improvement in all areas...
Ronaldo is in starting line-up with Ronaldhino and Rivaldo (3Rs!!!)... His hair is not the World Cup hair by default, but you can edit him to have that dodgy patch! His model is very good... you see him making darting runs forward.... Brazil fans should be happy. Ronaldhino looks bloody ugly!
just 2 questions!
Can you still do impossible U-turns when dribbling (ie. go up and down the edge of the box and not lose the ball such as in PES2)
Do the CB's still just hang back and mark space (even if there is no one there) instead of charging down the oncoming player dribbling the ball in the box and having an easy shot at goal? (again like PES2!)
1. Not as easy as PES2, which was way over the top, although I found Owen can still cut back well... as I said though, the defenders seem better at tackling... in particular... they will sometimes wait for you to approach them face to face, slowly back-pecdalling slightly, then SUDDENLY they spring forward to rob you of the ball. Attackers are less speedy... defenders are faster then in PES2... so it all seems FAIRER
2) CBs play deep, but definitely come out to block shots...they seem more responsive to danger than in PES2... i have not found any shots to be that easy... unlike in PES2. In PES2 they man-marked the strikers too rigidly... now they push up if u get too close to the penalty area.... I tried playing with R1 running towards goal in PES2 and it works, but not in WE6FE, better to stay on R2 near defenders... btw, in PES2, you caould face the defender, press R2 and saunter 45 degrees past him easily... much tougher now, but do-able.
