Historia de la compañía
id Software comenzó su andadura en 1991, fundada por cuatro miembros de la empresa Softdisk: los programadores John Carmack y John Romero, el diseñador de juegos Tom Hall y el artista gráfico Adrian Carmack. id Software dejó de ser un estudio independiente cuando el 24 de junio de 2009 ZeniMax Media, compañía matriz de Bethesda Softworks, anunció la compra del estudio por un precio no revelado.
