Introducción
La saga de videojuegos SD Gundam G Generation es una serie de videojuegos tipo tactical RPG cuya temática es el universo Gundam en general.
La saga empezó técnicamente en 1996 cuando Bandai lanzo al mercado una serie de 6 juegos para la consola de Nintendo Super Famicon, cada juego se centraba en un universo Gundam en particular. A partir del éxito que cosechó numerosos títulos han ido aparecindo a lo largo de los años en diferentes consolas tales como PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, WII etc.
Cabe mencionar que la mecanica de juego es muy parecida a la ya vista en los juegos también de Namco Bandai Super Robot Taisen, aunque estos ultimos fueron pienoreos ya que se estrenaron 5 años antes, en 1991 para ser exactos.
Ambientación
Al igual que las series de animación en las que está basado en el juego veremos toda clase de material futurista, como colonias espaciales, personas con poderes especiales, armamento, sistemas increíbles y sobre todo lo mas característico de la saga: robots gigantes(mechas), en este caso el nombre de estos mechas es Gundam los cuales se caracterizan por su similar aspecto y por ser el MS mas avanzado y poderoso de cada serie. Aparte de estos Gundam también hay otros muchos tipos de mechas que tienen el nombre de MS. Generalmente el armamento y equipo de cada Gundam es diferente dependiendo de la serie de la que provenga, eso si, el armamento básico de casi todos los MS en el universo Gundam es: un beam sword o espada de luz y un blaster, también conocido como pistola laser.
Argumento
Un misterioso piloto conocido como Code Fénix necesita nuestra ayuda para terminar con el "jefe maestro" el cual busca la destrucción total. Para evitar que lleve a cabo su plan deberemos escoger a uno de los protagonistas de una de las muchas series de Gundam disponibles y formar nuestro propio ejército particular para hacerle frente. Aparte de hacer frente a Barbatos deberemos ayudar a diferentes héroes de la saga a combatir en sus respectivos universos ya que Barbatos ha creado un brecha dimensional que conecta todos los universos lo que creará nuevas alianzas entre los villanos para eliminar a los héroes de las diferentes sagas.
World Core
Este es el modo historia del juego. Deberemos atravesar varios escenarios para detener a Code Fénix y su poderoso Master Fénix Gundam en su misión por hacerse con la galaxia.

Sistema de juego
El sistema de juego tiene una interfaz muy sencilla lo permite que personas que desconocen completamente el idioma puedan jugarlo sin ningún tipo de problema a mas que el del idioma claro. Al principio del juego se nos dará a elegir un personaje principal de entre todos los de las series Gundam incluidas en el juego, una vez seleccionado lo demás serán elegir misiones e ir completandolas con unos comandos de batalla bastante sencillos que se dividen en moverse a través del escenario, atacar( podremos seleccionar ataques variados que esten dentro del rango de fuego), usar objetos( ya sea para curar la vitalidad,energia o nivel de tensión de nuestro suit) etc. A medida que las vayamos completando iremos añadiendo personajes a nuestro grupo y también fondos a nuestra cuenta los cules sirven para comprar objetos, mejorar nuestras unidades o comprar nuevas unidades, también hay opciones de "mejorar" nuestro mecha o "cambiarlo" por otro de similares habilidades, aparte de esto último nuestros Mobils Suits como si de personajes se tratasen irán ganando experiencia, la cual se podrá invertir en el propio Suit para "mejorarlo" o "evolucionarlo" la única pega reside en que si ese suit es destruido en combate perderemos todo lo que hubiese invertido en él. El juego tiene un nivel de dificultad que nos obligará a tenernos que pasar varias veces algunos niveles para poder tener fondos suficientes para mejorar unidades, comprar objetos, etc ya que sino será muy dificil o casi imposible pasarse algunos niveles. Cabe destacar que esta clase de juegos son bastante largos y tediosos de completar pero en cambio prometen muchas muchas horas de diversión.

- World Tour nos propondra visitar diferentes universos Gundam y jugar nuevos acontecimientos en cada universo Gundam.
- World Core es la historia principal usando el sistema de la saga G Generation.
- Nuevo sistema de habilidades llamada "Master Skill", dicha habilidad solo puede ser usada por el lider de la unidad.
- Nuevas animaciones en batalla
