Streets of Rage 3 (conocido como Bare Knuckle III en Japón) es un videojuego de lucha callejera múltiple desarrollado por Sega en 1994 para su videoconsola doméstica Mega Drive.

En 2007 se puso a disposición de los jugadores en la Consola Virtual de Wii. Fue lanzado en Estados Unidos en 2009 para iPhone e iPod con una clasificación por edades de "T" (Teen).

Está reunido, junto a las otras dos entregas de la serie Streets of Rage, en Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage (2012) para Xbox 360 y se incluye como parte del recopilatorio Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (2009) para Xbox 360 y PlayStation 3.

Argumento

"¿Secuestrar al Jefe de Policía y sustituirlo por un robot? ¿Bombardear la ciudad hasta convertirla en pedazos? ¡Mr. X y el Sindicato resurgen una vez más para tramar la conspiración perversa definitiva! ¡Blaze Fielding lanza un furioso contraataque junto con Axel, Skate y el cyborg recién llegado Doctor Zan! ¡Movimientos completamente nuevos, incluyendo patadas de salto, golpetazos de potencia, puñetazos rotatorios y ataques secretos! Ataques combo de 2 jugadores atroces y combates uno contra uno! Cuatro finales monstruosos; ¡cuanto mejor te vuelves, más ves! Efectos de sonido digitalizados de paliza e increíbles canciones callejeras!"

Axel,

Me he enterado gracias a un nuevo amigo, el Doctor Zan, de que el Sindicato ha vuelto con un nuevo e inteligente plan para tomar el control de la ciudad sustituyendo importantes funcionarios por robots idénticos bajo el control de Mr. X.

Nuestro antiguo patrón, el Jefe de Policía, ha desaparecido y todo el mundo en la ciudad está preocupado con la reciente oleada de explosiones de varias bombas.

Me temo que el diabólico plan del Sindicato ya está en marcha. Adam está demasiado ocupado para ayudar, pero su hermano Skate se ha unido al Doctor Zan y a mí para tratar de conseguir ponernos tras la campaña de bombardeos y poner al descubierto el auténtico peligro de la ciudad.

Blaze

Personajes

	Blaze Fielding
	Una ex policía que había ayudado a derrotar a Mr X dos veces anteriormente, ahora Blaze trabaja como detective privada. Cuando es informada por el Doctor Zan de que la próxima víctima del diabólico plan del Sindicato será su viejo amigo el Jefe de Policía, organiza inmediatamente un grupo de combate para ir en su rescate.

	Axel Stone
	Después de que el Sindicato fuese derrotado por segunda vez, el antiguo compañero de Blaze en la policía se trasladó lejos de la ciudad y abrió una escuela de artes marciales. La carta que recibe de Blaze le trae de vuelta a la ciudad a toda velocidad.

	Eddie "Skate" Hunter
	Since his last encounter with Mr X and his thugs, Adam's kid brother has grown smarter, stronger and faster. And he's ready to hit the Syndicate where it hurts.

	Doctor Zan
	A former RoboCy researcher converted into a cyborg during Dr Dahm's early experiments. Dr Zan probes a little too deeply into the corporate files and discovers what the secret research is really for. He knows the Syndicate must be stopped once and for all, but because of his criminal record he cannot approach the police. So he pays a visit to Blaze's agency and enlists her help.

	Roo

Knife: Same as in Streets of Rage 2, except Blaze and Skate can perform special moves with it. Lead Pipe: The trusty pipe returns for a third game. Axel and Skate can use it to perform special moves. Baseball Bat: Not seen since the first game, the baseball bat puts in an appearance for Streets of Rage 3. It handles the same as the pipe, so Axel and Skate can use it to pull off moves. Plank: An all-new weapon, the plank of wood handles just like the pipe/bat, so Axel and Skate can do special moves with it. Katana: My favourite weapon, the samurai sword appears quite a few times. Axel and Blaze can perform some impressive and damaging moves with this. Kunai: The ninja knife handles the same as a normal knife. Blaze and Skate are able to use this in special attacks. Bomb: Grenades are always fun, but are fairly rare and hard to use.

Objetos de Bonificación

Apple: Pretty common item, restores about 1/3 of your energy bar. Restores about 1/3 of your Life Gauge. Roast Chicken: More common than in previous games due the increased difficulty. As usual it restores your health. Fills your Life Gauge. 1UP: Also more common they were in the original games, extra lives appear often. Notice that they are a little picture of Adam. Gives you an extra life. Cash Bag: The usual points bonus item. Worth 1000 points. Gold Bar: Found fairly often, these are helpful in getting extra lives through high scoring. Gives you a 5000 point bonus!

Curiosidades

• En las versiones occidentales, Axel, Blaze y Skate llevan ropa de diferentes colores.

• en la versión japonesa (Bare Knuckle III) Axel dice "Grand Upper!" cuando hace su ataque Blitz, sin embargo dice "Bare Knuckle!" en Streets of Rage 3. Bare Knuckle es el título original de la serie, que significa "Nudillo Desnudo".

• Cuando la revista Mean Machines Sega analizó Streets of Rage 3 en 1994 mandaron a su redactor artístico hacer un dibujo para la portada, con el Doctor Zan y Blaze de pie delante de la ciudad. Sega Europa realmente compró los derechos de la ilustración para utilizarla en la carátula del lanzamiento en el Reino Unido y Europa.

• Si el jefe de policía está muriendo al final de la ronda 6, pide a los protagonistas que detengan a su doble robótico; Si sobrevive, no parece saber nada acerca de su duplicado robot.

• Objetos secretos

In Stage 1, at the Warehouse Area, go to the bottom-left most region blocked by the crates in the background and press B in the area. You'll get 5000 PTS. and a 1-UP. Also in Stage 7, (City Hall) there are lots of hidden items as well. Search in areas blocked off by the background such as lampposts, flower pots, etc.

• Secret Passageways

On Stage 5, in the first room with all the ninjas, there are three secret routes you can take other than the normal route. You can access them by killing all enemies here. These rooms have more items than the normal rooms. The way to get to the rooms are as follows:

1.) Above the door where you follow your normal route, there is a white wall in front of you with cracks near the top. Punch it to access Secret Route 1.

2.) At the bottom of the screen is a very unlikely secret that most of you won't suspect until reading this. Go to the bottom center part of this room and punch a few times. You'll eventually bust a hole in the floor leading you to the basement of Stage 5 and also Secret Route 2.

3.) Go to the top of the screen and go up to the red walls. There is a certain red wall with a few cracks in it. Punch it to access Secret Route 3. Beware. There are a lot of enemies here, so be careful.

• Blaze's letter in the intro states that the Chief of Police has been kidnapped. After the second level however, the characters are surprised when they learn he has been kidnapped, and the news program presents it as a very recent event as they interrupt the ordinary programs for a news flash.

• Max de Streets of Rage II aparece en la imagen final de los créditos del juego.

• Si el jugador no recoge el pollo cuando combate a Yamoto al final de la ronda 4, el objeto explotará poco antes que lo haga él.

Stage Select

Hold B and Up, then press Start. The Stage Select will appear on the options screen.

After the main title screen, you'll see the main menu, with four options: 1 Player, 2 Players, Options, Battle. Move your arrow to "Battle," then press and hold UP and B (pressing UP will move the arrow to "Options"). WHILE HOLDING both UP and B, press C to select "Options." You will hear a 1-up sound when it is done correctly. At the bottom of the Options menu, there will be another option called "Stage Select." Press left and right to choose from stages 1-6. This allows you to play after Stage 5 on Easy (on Easy, the game ends at Stage 5)

Extra Lives Select

Go to the options screen and select the Lives option. Press and hold UP + (A) + (B) + (C) on Controller 2, and press LEFT or RIGHT on Controller 1 to select the number of lives you can start the game with. You will now be able to select 9 lives, past the default max of 5.

Get Roo

At the title screen, hold Up and B, then press Start. A kangaroo named Roo will now be available at the character select screen.

Get Shiva

After beating Shiva in the first stage when you get the last hit, press B+Start and hold it. When the continue screen comes up you'll be able to play as Shiva.

WARNING: He is weaker than his Streets of Rage 2 character.

Play as Ash (Japanese version only)

To select Ash, defeat him, then hold A on Controller 1. After losing all of your lives, you select to continue and you can choose Ash as your character.

Play as Super Axel

Press C to select a player, then quickly hold A and sweep the D-pad in a clockwise circle until Axel appears. Then press A.

Note: This cheat is very hard to get working.

Play as Super Zan

On the Character Select screen, hold C button on both gamepads when selecting Zan and keep holding them until the game start. You will have Super Zan afterward.

Get Super Skate

Pick Skate. As the first level starts, lose a your first life having 0 points. You will now be Super Skate, with a much more powerful combo.

Jugar con el mismo personaje

Hold Down+C on controller 2 as you enter 2 PLAYER mode with controller 1.
