ENVISIONS DOWNGRADER - Private

- Before you read the below, I, the author, ask for you to agree that you will keep this topic at the PSBoards. If you wish to post this information on your website, I ask of you to give it the first two words of "Envisions Downgrader." After that, you may put as you wish, unless it is negative toward the downgrader itself.


- If you've gotten this far, I suppose you have accepted. I suppose you are all wanting information regarding the topic itself, so here it is.

===NOTICE, THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS ARE ONLY REFERANCE FOR WHEN THE DOWNGRADER IS RELEASED, THE DOWNGRADER IS NOT RELEASD YET. SCROLL TO THE VERY BOTTOM FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY TO THE BETA TESTING.===

- The folder requires a distinct name. It has to be large, yet, not too large. If it is too small the downgrader WILL NOT WORK.
An example of this is 14 letters/numbers. What I have tried what has seem to work has:
J58DJ21KDPLNR

(Make sure you have backed up all files on mem stick but remains inside the PSP.)
(No UMDS in drive)

Place this folder into the PHOTO.
Within the folder you will need a very unique PSD file which has data in it which allows access of the kernal system and includes the 1.5 update.
Right click the folder and push 'View Slideshow'
It will say that there are no images to be viewed.
The PSP will shortly freeze.
Push the home button.
Asian letters should appear, go to the far right option.
This will bring you to a screen, asking if you wish to install 1.5.
You press yes.
After getting here, you will recieve a blue screen in many languages, asking you to press O to reset to defualt settings.

Go to Format Memory Stick and then USB connection (With a USB cord of course)
Many jumbled files will be there, find the one that says U661D20-1001
Delete it (This will be deleting the files which disallowed all access the 2.0 updates gave us.
Again, you will be directed to the blue screen.
don't press O!
Leave the PSP on for approx 5 minutes.
The PSP will shut itself off.
Turn it on, and it will turn itself on and then off
Keep doing it for awhile, your psp is not a brick
tahdah. Downgrade complete.

I, the Author, am looking for volunteers with the latest firmware (2.6) to PM the author of topic. In approxmately one week I will be posting those who will be beta testing.
The only requirements are:

Speak English fluently
Own a 2.6 PSP
Agree to the terms when you recieve them
Be mature
Do not distribute without my (the Author)'s approval
IF you're not picked, don't cry.

New Additions (optional): You have no experience with downgraders
You have plenty of experience with downgraders
You have programming skills
You own photoshop

UPDATES

It has come to my attention that those who think the photo exploit has been fixed, there are few ways to get past it with an additional program. I am sorry if I forgot to mention it, however, ALL DETAILS will be explained to those who beta test and in the read-me of the program when it is finally released.

If you are chosen for the beta testing it will commence at April 25th. If you are chosen you will be emailed or PMed terms and agreements. We will give you the rest of the information if you have gotten that far.

I will soon create a FAQ. PM me your questions, I am not going to be going through the topic.

FAQ (Sorry for the delay)

Does this work? - Yes, but hard for the inexperienced user to operate

What do we neeed beta tests for if it already works - To see if they are able to operate it without any help besides the readme

do you have a video or pictures of the downgrader working? - Currently, no, there are beliefs of the author saying if he creates one people will make assumptions that it is fake, also that he/she only has a low quality web cam to take pictures and videos.

Does it work with Fanjitas Eloader or something? - No, this is a completely new item.

Can you give us details on what is within the software? - If you are chosen for the beta tester you will recieve information regarding this question, however, specific details will not be released until the software is complete.

If were chosen how do we get it? - The dgrader will be held on a password protected website for testers ONLY. Those who download the software without permission will possibly suffer consequences!

What happens if you brick? - This is on your hands. Although the chances are slim to none of bricking and has been tested on a single psp over a dozen times, trying to perfect the downgrader, it states in the terms and agreements currently being worked on

1. If the downgrader(program) you are downloading harms any of your components (eg. PSP, PC), although it is highly unlikely, it is not the author's problem.

psd file? photoshop format? lol. PSP cant read that. I tried it and it didnt even showed up. TIFF does work but not PSD.

Sorry but this downgrader is fake. btw, there is no kernel on 2.0

That is the exact reason WHY the file is so perfect. If you read, it will say that the psp is not able to open the file, when it attempts to slideshow the folder it will go over the file itself and then comes the action.

and BTW. The maker of this downgrader don't make it direct to 1.5 u just make it to hard for ure self make it to 2.0 and 2.0 hase already an downgrader so, but anyway u lead the project not me

No, it goes to 1.5. The problem, however, is when you press system settings it believes it is firmware 2.6, not 1.5, but still works like 1.5. This is trying being sorted out, it is believed that it is the file you delete. Instead of deleting it, the author and I are attempting to create a item in which is similar to the one you delete, however, it will contain information that is similar to the hack that changes the software version mask type thing. So far, it is hard to build this in, seeing how it is a large file and hard to compress into the PSD file.
