PlanetG unveils free-to-play Rebellion Run for PS Vita
Downloadable action game due out on February 27 in Japan.Tokyo-based developer PlanetG is working on a free-to-play game for PS Vita, this week’s Famitsu reveals.
Titled Rebellion Run: Dash or Capture, the game is due out via the PlayStation Store on February 27 in Japan and will feature item micro-transactions. It supports up to four players in ad-hoc an infrastructure mode, as well as downloadable content.
Rebellion Run is an an action game where players compete for treasure in real-word cities like Akihabara and Shibuya, as well as on fictional fields. Each player will develop their own story as they participate in a digital sport called “Dash.”
In a top-down field, a game begins with one player acting as the “Escapee,” fleeing with an attache case, while the other players act as the “Trackers” in pursuit of the Escapee. Battles begin when the Escapee comes into contact with a Tracker. Weapons are assigned to the X, Square, and Triangle buttons. The winner of the battle will be the new holder of the attache case, thus becoming the new Escapee. To win a game, the player in possession of the attache case must reach a 100 percent “Transfer Rate.” When the match ends, players will earn experience and can strengthen their weapons.
Three characters have been introduced:
Kyousai Shintou (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai) – Participates in Dash to pay for his sick little sister’s operation.
Hiyoi Terazono (voiced by Maaya Uchida) – Participates in Dash to obtain information on her brother who disappeared mysteriously.
Maria Tensaka (voiced by Manami Numakura) – A genius girl who can handle anything flawlessly. She joined Dash on the pretext that it was somehow popular.
