C4pi escribió:Rumor: Insomniac Games Going Multiplatform
Maker of Resistance and Ratchet franchises may soon produce software for Xbox 360, too.
by Matt Casamassina
March 12, 2010 - Overheard at the Game Developers Conference: Insomniac Games has become a multiplatform developer. The company, best known for the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises, is allegedly creating cross-platform software for both PS3 and Xbox 360, according to a trusted source who spoke with IGN under the condition of anonymity.
Insomniac Games has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Sony, but remains an independent studio, which affords it the right to create games for any platform should it choose. The company is based in Burbank, California. Earlier this year, Insomniac Games expanded its resources when it opened a new studio in North Carolina.
Last year, an alleged billboard advertising Resistance 3 was said to have been erected during the filming of a forthcoming feature film titled Battle: Los Angeles. Details here. Given that Sony has in the past published the series, it seems unlikely that the first-person shooter -- or, for that matter, Ratchet & Clank, also funded by Sony -- would ever appear on a competitor's console. It seems much more likely that if rumors are true and Insomniac is working on 360, it is creating something altogether new.
We contacted Sony for comment but the company was unable to respond before publish time.
Insomniac Games' president Ted Price said only that the developer does not comment on rumors and speculation.

Even after playing a mere five hours, it feels to me that there is much more to this universe than this story. It seems obvious to continue adventures on these two worlds in a direct sequel. So, will there be a Final Fantasy XIII-2? The men laugh and begin to answer very diplomatically: “That depends on how well the game sells in the West!” But after pressing a bit, Kitase concedes he would very much like to do a direct sequel. “In the past three years we worked both on the world and on the various systems. Creating these systems isn’t very glamourous and can frankly be a bit boring. If we could do a XIII-2, we could direct all our attention to the story and refine what we have already built.”
This is an advantage which will not exist for the team that might create Final fantasy XV (XIV is already announced as an MMO). Every numbered Final Fantasy game stands on its own, and is created starting with a blank slate. Still, elements carry over to become canon, like chocobo, crystals, and archetypcal spells. What elements of FFXIII would Kitase like to carry over into future Final Fantasies?
We do not know if there will be a XV. This depends a lot on the success of XIII. Also, it is difficult to pinpoint elements that are typical Final Fantasy. They are mostly invisible: part of the DNA of the game, that everyone recognizes as typical Final Fantasy. But if there is a XV, I hope the way we wrote our characters carries over. We strived to create believable people of flesh and blood. They are not robots. And they are not super heroes. I hope this humanity is something we will see again.”

A video has popped up on the net that potentially shows a release date for Killzone 3. The video shows a Sony presentation sheet at GDC 2010, and was taken secretly according to the uploader. What do you think: Could this really be true?

Demon's Souls' llegará a España... ¡y traducido!

Guerrilla Games’ Killzone 2 was one of the major highlights of last year, winning many awards including best first-person shooter. The much-anticipated follow up has been oft rumored as of late, but may not be all the Amsterdam-based developer is working on.
According to Guerrilla Games’ technical director, Michiel van der Leeuw’s LinkedIn profile, the developer is working on “undisclosed projects”. “Projects” being the key word, as in more than one project.
Van der Leeuw has worked on the previous Killzone games in the past, as well as the PlayStation 2 and Xbox game, Shellshock: Nam 67′.
Since Sony owns Guerrilla Games you can bet that these games will be “Only on PlayStation”. So could Guerrilla be working on 2 new PS3 games? Or will one of these projects be a follow up to the highly successful PSP title, Killzone: Liberation? Even further thinking could have Guerrilla working on the successors to the PS3 and PSP. Time reveals all. So for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Y Assassin's Creed II también me parece jodidamente increíble.
Jak and Daxter, that's a game that really put Naughty Dog on the map. You guys have kind of grown up in, I think, multiple ways, right? In terms of studio size. In terms of the genre you're working in. Maybe even your audience. And Jak and Daxter has gone off to do its own thing. Do you guys feel any ownership of that property anymore? Do you feel any desire to return to it? Or is it, sort of, in the past for Naughty Dog and you guys have your sights set elsewhere?
Yeah, it's hard to say. It's hard to admit that would be in our past, because we definitely still have a real soft spot in the heart for the franchise. And I, in my fantasy, would love to be able to have the resources to be able to tackle that project. But, right now, Uncharted is sort of the focus of the studio for DLC. Maybe we could go to Jak and Daxter as the next project. Maybe we stick with Uncharted [laughs]. Maybe we come up with a new IP. It's tricky to be able to tackle all of those at once. Right?
We don't have the resources. So, we're gonna have to choose our battles. I'm not sure whether Jak and Daxter will win that battle. Like you were saying, though, with trying to find a partner to work with us on the PSP version of Uncharted, I think it would be a shame if there weren't a Jak and Daxter for the PS3 generation. So, if we can't find a partner for one of those, then maybe we're going to have to find a budget ourselves. [laughs]

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino revealed via Twitter earlier this week plans for a new title announcement to be held in April. "Once this is announced," he wrote, "it will become an extremely anticipated title."
In the same Tweet, he said that he expects some to question the company announcing new games when many of its previously announced games are still unreleased. The development team for the new title is different, he said.
Regarding a couple of those other titles, Hino said in a later Tweet that he's still working away at the scenario for the next Layton game. He also recently had to do some checks on the text that will be used for voice recording for Inazuma Eleven 3. He's currently working on the planning and script side of four titles simultaneously.
