The reveal trailer for Serious Sam 3 has been posted by IGN, and it’s vintage Serious Sam stuff, showing you ripping through hordes of mutants.
The trailer tries to be dramatic at the start, declaring that you’re the last hope of humanity before quickly moving over to all guns blazing action scenes. There are huge monsters, lots of blood and even more cool weapons to kill them with. Fun.
The game will be out this summer on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
It’s now official that Stainless has “reacquired” the Carmageddon brand from Square Enix, following previous rumours. Stainless is the team that developed the original PC titles Carmageddon and Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now.
The new game is described as being in “early development” and will release as a download. No platforms have been confirmed.
Stainless is “actively seeking a partner with whom to move the project on to full production.”
“Carmageddon has returned to its Indie developer roots, and the time is right to bring the game to a new audience,” said Patrick Buckland, Stainless co-founder and CEO.
“Originally an ambitious title that tested the hardware limits of its day, we’re excited that the game will finally get the showcase it deserves on today’s platforms.”
Fellow studio co-founder Neil Barnden added: “Carmageddon: Reincarnation will feature the same black humour and comic violence that made the original game such a success.
“All the laughs, the crazy power-ups, and extreme destruction will return. We will make sure the existing fans get what they want and expect from a Carmageddon game, and a new generation discovers the delights of sliding into a Cunning Stunt.”
Check out the game’s site and Twitter feed for further updates.

I'm pretty much assuming that only one Bethesda title dominates your horizon for the time-being; Skyrim. It's big, bold, brash, brooding, bloody, brilliant, and slightly belated (We've been waiting 5 years for a new Elder Scrolls). However, this narrow-mindedness may all change very soon.
Nick Breckon is Bethesda's Community Manager, dealing with the cries from the public, while also co-hosting the Bethesda podcast. An hour ago, he left quite the intriguing tweet on his Twitter:Drawing up one of those bullet-point fact sheets for an unannounced game. Oh man are they harder to write than you'd think.
Awesome, right? So, let's think this through; there's an unannounced Bethesda game. And, the game is far along in development, and at the point where a Community Manager is making fact sheets - the kind used in press releases or presentations. Ah, man; if only there were a massive videogaming expo coming up soon. If only...
Is Fallout 4 a step too far? Is a new IP far-fetched? What the hell is 'E3'? Discuss below.

A smaller, cuter Warhammer 40,000 will precede the launch of the next retail entry in the series. THQ has announced Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team today, an upcoming PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade arcade shooter.
Kill Team has players in the role of an elite Space Marine team sent to take out a giant Ork Kroozer en-route to an Imperial Forge World. It offers a range of classes, including the ranged specialists Strenguard Veteran and Techmarine, and the melee focused Vanguard Veteran and Librarian. It also highlights two-player local co-op, weapon upgrades, and six chapters of story.
Completing the first mission in Kill Team unlocks the Power Sword weapon for use in multiplayer for the upcoming retail release, Warhammer 40,000: Space marine. It “cuts through armor and flesh alike.”
Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team will launch on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade in July for $9.99 / 800 Microsoft Points.
Puzzle-platforming is about to get a lot more pink. Minority Inc, in partnership with Sony’s Pub Fund, has announced Papo & Yo, an upcoming PlayStation Network puzzle-platforming adventure title about a young boy on a mission to save his monster pal.
Quico, the boy, and Monster, the monster, are best friends. Yet, Monster’s addiction to poisonous frogs signals danger for Quico. When Monster scarfs down a frog, he’s colored in violent rage. Quico loves Monster and wants to save him from these addiction-induced outbursts.
Gameplay involves the pair solving puzzles and adventuring a “magical, surrealist world.” Monsters emotions, both good and bad, play a key role in finding a cure for his addiction. Depending on his state of mind, he may choose not to help you solve a puzzle until he’s eaten or napped. If a poisonous frog gets near his reach, Quico is in for trouble.
A world of Quico’s imagination, Monster’s emotions affect the state of the world, as well. When he’s happy and all is well, the world is bright and sunny. When Monster’s enraged due to the intake of frog, the world is dark and ominous.
Papo & Yo is out exclusively for PlayStation Network in early 2012.
THQ’s made official UFC Undisputed 3, confirming the new iteration of the fighting series for an early 2012 launch.
The game, which will be on show at E3 next week, will feature Pride matches that are based on the now-defunct Pride Fighting Championship, according to GameSpot.
There are also changes to the striking and grappling gameplay systems, as well as trying to make the experience more friendly to experienced and new players of the series.
There’s a preview of it and interview with the game’s dev team at GameSpot.
It’s the first proper UFC title, not including Fitness Trainer, since UFC Undisputed 2010, which performed sluggishly in sales. It’ll launch on 360 and PS3.

We ask when it's coming back, and we get a warm but non-committal response. Because Mike's a decent type, he always plays along.
Yet when we enquired about the game you all want last week, there was slight a change of tack from the genial exec's usual "never say never" line. (Okay, he did roll that one out too, but bear with us...)
"We take the comments from the fans very seriously indeed," Hayes told us, whilst being sure to add that there were "no plans at the moment" for a new Shenmue game on consoles.

Sonic and SEGA All Star Racing works into that too, specifically because we know people are fans we introduced the forklift truck as a downloadable vehicle and then created a trailer specifically for that one character. We do listen and I think that was the right time to give a nod and a wink to those guys.

Paramount Entertainment has announced Star Trek, and action-adventure co-op experience from Digital Extremes working closely with Bad Robot, K/O Paper Products and Damon Lindelof.
The game allows players to run around for the first time ever in a game as Kirk and Spock in an adventure which continues the one set out on by director and producer J.J. Abrams in the 2009 Star Trek film.
It contains a stand alone story “filled with action-packed combat,” as Kirk and Spock must work together to stop “a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.”
“Star Trek challenges the boundaries of co-op gameplay with a galactic adventure that gamers and fans have never experienced,” said Tom Lesinski, president of Paramount Digital Entertainment. “Working closely with the Star Trek filmmaking team throughout development, the game is sure to deliver AAA production values, a wide variety of gameplay and all the action you would expect from the hit franchise. This will be the definitive Star Trek gaming experience.”
Star Trek features an original story by BAFTA award winner and God of War writer, Marianne Krawczyk, in collaboration with the writer and producers of the new Star Trek films, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
It will be made available in 2012 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

In case you missed it - we are announcing our new universe and multiplatform game at EA's Press Conference, 12:30 PDT Monday on SpikeTV
That Dust 514 countdown site is already giving up its secrets, and even hinting at a PlayStation 3 exclusive for the EVE ONline tie-in.
A Kotaku reader turned the site upside down and shook out the following screen shots.
Check out those banners at the bottom – not a lot of Xbox 360 branding showing up there, huh? Historically, of the two major console holders, Sony has been the more accepting of interconnectivity between platforms, alá Portal 2′s Steam integration.
Dust 514 is an upcoming console shooter from CCP, which is set in the same universe as and may sport connectivity with EVE Online.

Coro Coro Comics seems to have leaked the Gundam project which Namco Bandai was teasing earlier this week.
“Gundam Age” will not only be confined to videogames, expanding itself into manga, anime, hobby and card components. Coro Coro will be actively involved in its promotion.
The magazine reveals that Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino will be handling the story, as both Level-5 and Coro Coro are closely associated with the project. Collaboration between the two firms in the past include the manga versions of Inazuma Eleven and Danbol Senki/Little Battle Experience.
However, it’s unlikely that Level-5 will have anything to do with the videogame part of the project. The magazine states that players will take on the role of the Age main character and will fight in a one-hundred year war.
Gundam Age Project will get an official unveiling on 13 June and fans of the series can tune in to a live telecast of the event.
Id Software has commented that Rage 2 is almost guaranteed, but don’t look for it on the Wii U.
“The Nintendo market is a tough market for us to get into,” creative director Tim Willits told Eurogamer.
“A lot of first party games, a lot of licensed games – those are the ones that have done the best on that platform. I’d love it if we can get a hardcore FPS community going and build on it, but it’s tough.
“I think we should keep our toes where we know best,” he concluded.
Willits also commented that “stability in the consoles is good”, allowing developers to put their experience on both major consoles to good use, concentrating on game design.
In contradiction, id’s legendary head of technology John Carmack told Gamespot the studio’s next major project after DOOM 4 is probably destined for the next hardware generation.
“I am working on next-generation engine technology and what we’ll be doing with graphics when we start really rethinking it. It’s likely that the project after Doom 4, the next major one, will be designed around being cross-generational,” he said.
Asked whether a sequel to RAGE is on the cards – a likely candidate for this next project – Carmack said is is planning on it.
“We haven’t got a formal, official announcement, but we’re certainly headed in that direction,” he said.
RAGE, id’s first new IP in years, is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September.
EA Games boss Frank Gibeau has said, once again, that Mirror’s Edge hasn’t been killed off, but also teased a possible combo with its sequel and Frostbite 2.
“We’re actively looking at how to bring it back in the right way. We love that franchise. The DICE guys really created something I think special the first time around. You’ve got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one and that’s what we’re working on,” he told GTTV.
Asked about Frostbite 2 and ME, he said that “you’ll see that combination, I’m sure.”
Parkour-based Mirror’s Edge, made by DICE, launched back in 2008 to critical acclaim, but didn’t achieve big sales as expected despite selling 2 million units as of last October. Gibeau had previously said it “fell short.”
Development on Mirror’s Edge 2 was confirmed way back in 2009, but has since stalled.
Frostbite 2, meanwhile, is the engine being used at DICE for Battlefield 3. Need for Speed: The Run, being made at Blackbox, is also using it.
THQ’s Danny Bilson has teased an upcoming reveal while discussing similarly shrouded cross-media opportunities.
Speaking with MTV Multiplayer, Bilson commented that there’s more than one THQ-title adaptation in the works.
“I can’t tell you exactly what those adaptations are yet, because the game hasn’t been announced yet,” he said.
“There’s another one that’s not with SyFy, and then there’s another motion picture that will probably be announced in a couple months.”
The new projects join a SyFys’ adaptation of Volition’s shooter series, a movie called Red Faction: Origins that debuted over the weekend, and a series based on de Blob.
The popular executive said TV and film adaptations are “a really effective way to sort of expand the stories” of the brand’s games.

Capcom has told Rely on Horror that it is aware fans prefer the traditional, horror-suspense gameplay of past Resident Evil games and it is looking to bring it back.
Speaking with the site during E3, a Capcom representative agreed that fans preferred the more horror-driven game, instead of the action-oriented turn the series has taken, and that fans will like the direction the development team is focusing on for the next Resident Evil game.
“We know that alot of fans want more horror back for the next one, the development team knows that as well and we read a lot of comments, messageboards, and ask for feedback, and there was a lot of critisism about RE5′s focus on action,” said the rep.
“I think that you’ll like the direction the dev team is shifting for the next one.”
Although, this statement doesn’t give away much, it’s safe to assume he meant that RE 6 might be returning to the series’ roots.
