HILO de MAME

@N4ck de cores uso mame 2003 plus, 2010, 2015 y 2016, flycast (dreamcast) y fba 2012, asi de memoria creo que son esos los que uso, hay juegos de mame que van en uno u otro.

lo mejor es instalarlos todos y asi si el juego esta en base de datos lo reconoce automaticamente y te lo asocia a su core. Si no te lo reconoce ningun core pero te carga manualmente (pasa a menudo) puedes editar las playlists manualmente también, pero poco a poco.

EDIT: el core de mame 2016 solo lo usaba con un juego (svc chaos) y tambien me funciona con mame 2015 asi que uso mejor el 2015 porque con el de mame 2016 no me dejaba configurar los controles.
Guru dispone de la única placa, al menos de la única que se conoce su existencia, del rarísimo juego Air Walkers que Data East desarrolló para la SEGA Model 2A. Por tanto, es bastante probable que en el futuro esta desconocida recreativa, parece ser que sólo se lanzó en Japón y en muy escasa cantidad, pueda llegar a ser preservada y emulada en MAME. La recreativa, al menos en apariencia, me recuerda bastante a los juegos de basket de Run and Gun que hizo Konami. El blog de Guru en http://members.iinet.net.au/~lantra9jp1_nbn/gurudumps

He tenido varios problemas (drivers de video, sonido, detección de roms... ) pero poco a poco lo voy configurando. Por ahora es el front-end que más me convence. Lo veo súper versátil y muy potente cuando lo tienes configurado.

Aún me queda, en los documentos oficiales veo poca ayuda, lo básico para ponerlo en marcha.

Ahora mismo estoy viendo cómo organizar las roms de mame, neo-geo y cps1 y cps2. Vamos, más que viendo, peleándome...

Una pregunta que me ha surgido. Para configurar cada core, ¿sólo se puede hacer desde el "quick menu"? Quiero decir, ¿No hay otra forma de poner, por ejemplo, parámetros como el aspect-ratio?

@N4ck Yo siempre lo hago desde el quick menu ya que te permite guardar presets por core, carpetas y juego, ademas de los overrides. Es importante que aprendas como gestiona retroarch esos presets a nivel de estructura de carpetas y archivos, ya que por ejemplo los presets de carpeta van asociados siempre a un core. Las carpetas que tienes que controlar son las de saves, config y shaders (creo), no me quiero extender mucho pero ves trasteando y aprendiendo, vale mucho la pena. Y para organizar los juegos es fundamental que entiendas bien como genera las playlist el programa y que sepas editarlas manualmente para dejarlo todo tal y como tu quieras, es 100% customizable. Lo digo porque yo hasta que no aprendí estas cosas no me terminaba de convencer el programa, cuando ves que puedes dejarlo todo a tu gusto cambia la cosa.

Y como curiosidad, no se si ya lo sabes, pero si vas al menu de drivers puedes cambiar el driver de menu y darle un aspecto a retroarch completamente distinto.
@Dark_Crystal me pondré con ello. Por ahora estaba viendo las opciones básicas. Acabo de encontrar otro hilo aquí en EOL que hablan de RetroArch y las Playlist, seguramente pueda encontrar info interesante...

Como te decía, para un newbie, veo que hay falta de manuales detallados. Hay que ir buscando por foros y por páginas donde explicas cosas por separado...

Vi los temas de personalización, pero me gusta -- por ahora -- el que viene por defecto.

Parece de coña pero el logo de 1942 en MAME lleva 20+ años mal emulado. Estará corregido en MAME 0.219.

Bienvenido sea. Que sigan trabajando en la corrección de bugs en arcades clásicos siempre será una excelente noticia. Porque, aunque en ocasiones parezca que no, estoy convencido de que hay todavía muchas cosas por mejorar.

si, mame emula model2 pero funciona bastante lento.
El Mame32 Plus! Plus! 0.119 es el que mejor tira en mi PC, pero no hay forma de que funcionen las roms, solo unas que tenia hace tiempo... :( ¿Alguna ayuda?

Si usas la versión 0.119, necesitas el romset de la misma versión si quieres que te funcionen los juegos sin problemas.
Poniendo la tele en modo juego reduzco el input lag de imagen pero no el sonido que lo escucho mejor sincronizado directamente del portátil. He puesto sonido modo juego pero no lo reduce. La imagen si va bien en modo juego sin embargo.

Se puede reducir tb el input lag de sonido configurando algo en mame? Y en la tele?

Se sabe algo de si emularan o estan trabajando el hyper neo geo 64? estuve mirando y vi pocas novedades..
Nueva versión MAME 0.219 disponible. En relación a las máquinas nuevas emuladas pues hay muchas Plug´n´Play TV pero me ha sorprendido la existencia de una dedicada a las tortugas ninja de la que desconocía su existencia, y también que una de mis Game & Watch preferidas, la de Pinball, pues esté emulada ahora por primera vez en la historia. Fuera de ésto aquí están descritas todas las novedades y mejoras que esta versión trae consigo:

Hasta donde yo sé era exactamente igual a otras versiones dumpeadas en MAME excepto que en la pantalla del jefe-serpiente no había lata. La cual está escondida en las versiones dumpeadas, tienes que sacarla disparando la base de la columna de piedra. Pero en el arcade de mi infancia daba igual dónde dispararas que no había lata, y a fe que probé ese punto porque estaba en mi último año de instituto (que estaba al lado de los recreativos) cuando se emuló el juego por primera vez en Raine (varios años antes que en MAME).
esta es una versión que se realizo para el sistema modular system. tal vez sea a la que jugabas tu.

La emulación va avanzando muy muy lentamente. Cada dos o tres años KALE o algún otro desarrollador le mete una gran actualización, como la última que hicieron con los juegos de coches hace ya un par de años o así ......

Es un sistema complejo de narices, uno de los que mas... pero bueno, en el mundillo de MAME torres más altas han caído. Al tiempo.
el problema muchas veces no es cuestion de potencia o de no saber hacer las cosas, simplemente no se tiene informacion sobre como funcionan ciertos chips o protecciones anticopia y hasta que se descubre como funcionan no se puede hacer nada.

Tengo un problema. Si pongo juegos como el King fu máster o el vigilante, no puedo cambiar el modo de imagen de la tele a juego por lo que tengo input lag. Es por forzar el aspecto ratio o que? Cómo podría solucionarlo? Es conectando el portátil a la tele por HDMI. Con juegos más actuales no me pasa. Gracias.

Tengo una pregunta sobre el CPU overclocking de MAME.

En una versión de Windows -- ya obsoleta -- me permitía poner la CPU al 200%. Esto molaba mucho sobre todo en juegos como el Double Dragon o Metal Slug, ya que permitía evitar la ralentizaciones que pasaban en el juego original. He intentado ponerlo con libretro MAME 2003, pero no encuentro la misma opción en el panel de opciones. He leído que esto lo han quitado en versiones modernas. ¿No hay forma de ponerlo?

Y me gustaría hacer otra pregunta, me estoy iniciando en este mundillo y me he instalado "mame" y he configurado las roms y bios y todo funciona perfectamente.

Pero no se como poner las capturas de pantalla de los juegos, para que cuando selecciones un juego o otro salga la foto al lado...he encontrado de una web que es "progetto snaps" un zip de 354mb que al abrirlo tiene un fichero snap.7z.

En que directorio debo ponerlo?

@radgezito Aquí en http://www.emu-france.com/emulateurs/6- ... -officiel/ puedes encontrar una serie de MAME´s no oficiales así como el enlace a las páginas oficiales de esos emuladores en caso de que aún existan.

Para ver las imagenes tienes que ir a dónde esté el ejecutable del MAME y ahí tienes que crear la carpeta "snap" suponiendo que ésta no exista, y dentro de esa carpeta tendrías que incluir todas las imagenes que encuentres dentro de ese archivo snap.7z tras descomprimirlo. No tiene mucho secreto.

Ahora tengo otro error, al intentar cargar algunos roms en el emulador de mame me salen estos errores.

Decir que tengo configurado MAME en su ultima versión , las roms en la carpeta "roms" y todas las bios que encontré en un pack.

He estado buscando en internet...y creo que lo que se debe hacer para corregir este fallo es buscar este fichero que me "falta" descargarlo y ponerlo directamente en el ZIP del juego, corregirme si voy errado o hecharme un cable, pero eso es lo que he entendido leyendo tutoriales...

Así lo tenía antes pero ahora el fichero cheats.dat parece que no lo carga [buuuaaaa] Al final descubrí que el fbNeo permite hacer cpu OC directamente en el menú, así que uso ese emu ;)

@radgezito ese fallo es típico del MAME... Todos los que empezáis os bajais cualquier cosa de internet y luego ponéis el MAME que os da por poner y claro... fallos a mansalva.

MAME funciona de la siguiente forma:

- Se emula un juego. Para ello, se usan "ROMs" de ese juego.
- Se mejora el juego, y se descubre que hay una memoria que no se dumpeó en su día y por eso fallaba, y se añade.
- A partir de esa versión, todos los "packs" de ROMs anteriores a la misma, darán error en ese juego, porque falta el nuevo dumpeo, que no existía cuando emularon la primera vez.

Añade a esto ROMS que no están bien dumpeadas, o que ni siquiera eran reales, y suma que en cada versión pasa con unas decenas de juegos (a veces incluso 100 o más ROMs cambiadas)...

Hay juegos que no han sufrido modificaciones desde MAME 0.37. Esos funcionan. Pero otros muchos han cambiado y de forma importante a lo largo de muchas nuevas versiones... Esos darán el error que tienes.

Así pues, MAME no es como los emuladores de SNES, NES, Megadrive... Ahí sólo se cambia una ROM por otra si la inicial han visto que peta al llegar a un punto. Pero ahí falla el juego, no el emulador (no te faltan ficheros). Es muy importante conseguir, o hacerte tú mismo con CLRMAMEPRO, un pack de roms de la versión de MAME. Son dos cosas hiperdependientes entre si. No vale bajarse un pack de cualquier youtuber y poner el último MAME. Así funcionará lo que funcione, máxime cuando casi todos ponen packs destinados a la raspberry, y que corresponden a MAME 130 o 150 como mucho, y ahora mismo la última es la 219.

Ahora debería hacer un escaneo de las roms que tengo? Ese paso no consigo hacerlo.

En esta web tienes todos los dats de MAME:

Pon el último en la carpeta "DATS" que hay en la carpeta donde has instalado el CLRMAME y vete a profiler. Si no lo ves, dale a "refresh" y luego lo cargas. Te vas a opciones, y pones la ruta donde están tus ROMS en "ROMS". Luego sales y te vas a SCAN, new scan y te eliminará todo lo que sobre.

Una vez limpia la carpeta de roms, tienes que tener otra carpeta con las roms que tengas bajadas aparte (este paso se suele hacer cada vez que sale una nueva versión de MAME y DAT) y le das a "rebuilder", pones la ruta en source (destino ya tendrá la ruta de tus ROMS), y le das. Yo recomiendo poner la opción "merge sets", para agrupar juego base+clones en un solo fichero. Tanto en scanner como en rebuilder.

Y, lo mismo con los CHD (yo no recomiendo ni que te esfuerces en bajar ninguno, desmarca esa opción siempre que la veas). Salvo que haya un juego que quieras mucho, y que venga en ese formato, ignóralos. Ocupan un chorro de gigas y no vale la pena. Meterte en un romset de 300-500Gb me parece absurdo. Aunque aquí, ya es cuestión de gustos. Mi opción es... olvídate de ellos.

Y esto es a bote pronto como se usa. Tiene más opciones (yo la que más uso es la crearme mis propios DAT desde una carpeta de mi PC, por ejemplo las fotos, para eliminar las repetidas que tenemos todos desperdigadas por todo el disco duro), pero para MAME, estas son las básicas.

Una vez lo usas por primera vez, y ves lo potente que es para el mundo emulación, no podrás deshacerte de él ;-)

Gracias por la explicación...1000 gracias !!! Ando un rato jugando con el...seguro que es potente pero la interface...voy un poco pez.

De momento he creado un perfil donde le he puesto el link al emulador de mame "c:\mame\mame64.exe"

Luego he cogido el dat y lo he copiado en C:\Program Files\clrmamepro\dats en una carpeta nueva que he llamado "dats" , he copiado el zip dentro y lo he descomprimido.

AL darle click al perfil me sale esta opcíón

@radgezito olvidate de todo eso... Haz lo que te he dicho: bájate el DAT de la web que te he puesto. Es un ZIP con varios ficheros .DAT, pon sólo el de MAME 2019 (habitualmente, el más pesado). Copialo en la carpeta DATS y entra a los profiles (realmente los llama profiles, pero son DATS).

Luego, scan, desactiva los CHD y dale caña.

Va a ser muy difícil conseguirlo pero a ver si me podéis ayudar.

Es sobre el Chiki Chiki Boys o Megatwins, hay un problema con este juego, yo cuando lo jugaba en los arcades el juego no tenía vidas, tenía una barra de vida y solo una vida pero cuando emulo el juego en el Mame no es así, en el Mame hay vidas y la barra es más corta y te quitan más, y no sirve ponerlo a 0 vidas porque no se comporta como yo jugaba.

En Final Burn Alpha sale como yo jugaba pero el problema es que en ese emulador está mal emulado, también he probado el Raine pero sale como el Mame, así que:

- ¿Hay una alguna forma de jugarlo en el Mame como yo lo jugaba? He mirado los dis switches pero no encuentro nada.
- También recuerdo que el Callus y las primeras versiones del Mame se jugaba así como yo lo hacía pero no sé en que versión empezó a cambiar todo esto.

Pues tienes razon, en un build de mame que descargue (v 0.220) el juego sale con la barra pequeña y con vidas, en cambio en FBA sale la barra grande y sin vidas... ¿que errores graficos ves en FBA en ese juego?. Lo que yo noto, son errores graficos en la presentacion del juego, en la historia cuando van mostrando pequeñas imagenes contando la misma, como que se "sobreponen" las imagenes que viene a continuacion o algo asi... En el juego en si no me fije.

Bueno, final burn alpha (FBA) se dejo de actualizar hace tiempo, ahora el proyecto continua como Final Burn Neo (FBN) y han mejorado bastante la emulacion en general. Los emulacion de CPS, CPS2 y CPS3 han sido mejorados bastante asi como una infinidad de juegos... incluso hasta el logo de 1942 (que sale mas arriba en este hilo) fue corregido en FBN, algunos sprites de SF3, los jojo (el sprite de la estrella en la presentacion)... bueno muchos juegos fueron mejorados y otros varios agragados. Hasta juegos de nintendo (nes) emula ahora, XD.

El Megatwins tambien ha mejorado su emulacion, probando ambos emuladores (FBN y el build de mame 0.220) se ven practicamente iguales... bueno, salvo el detalle de que en FBN va con la barra grande y sin vidas (como lo recuerdas) y en mame con la barra pequeña y con vidas. Aunque debo decir que solo jugue la primera etapa completa en ambos emuladores para ver.

Aunque es una captura del Final Burn Alphan en el Neo pasa igual, por eso decía si en el Mame había alguna opción u otro emulador donde funcionara como a mi me gusta y que esté bien emulado.

@Galdergalder A mí la verdad es que la Crab Grab no es la que más me gusta. Me parece de las Game & Watch menos logradas que ha sacado Nintendo. He vuelto a probarla ahora con ésto de que se ha conseguido emular y no me engancha. En cambio, la otra máquina de la serie SuperColor, que es Spitball Sparky, es una de mis favoritas de siempre y es una a las que más juego.

Quitando el efecto de color ese tan chulo que tiene es bastante basica

Hay forma de que se queden guardadas todas las "slider control" es raro porque se guardan bien las de brillo, contraste, gamma pero las de distorcion cubica redondeo de esquinas y demas se borran cada vez que cierro el mame, trate de editar el archivo ini pero solo pude agregar el efecto de la Hum Bar Amount que me gusta bastante.

Por ahi lei que se podia crear un archivo ini que se tenia que llama horizontal.ini y ya serviria con todos los juegos pero nada mas no puedo.

Alguien sabra que estoy haciendo mal? Tengo la ultima version mame 0.220.

La verdad tontamente nunca me habia metido tan a fondo con el mame y me he quedado con la boca abierta lo asombroso que puede lucir con los bezels y estos filtros.

Ya despues me toca aprender de Front ends.

llevo poco con esto del MAME lo instale gracias a un tutorial del YT ....y aun me queda un poco bastante para controlarlo ajaja...me suscribo a este hilo...y ahora una duda como se hacen las capturas en el MAME?
