Dragon Age: Origins – Wardens’ Quest Competition
1. Competition - General
The Dragon Age: Origins – Wardens’ Quest Competition (the “Competition”) is a competition of skill to determine the best team to play Dragon Age: Origins (the “Game”). The team with the highest score at the end of the Competition will be awarded a prize. The Competition will be held at the County Hall, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XT, London, England (“Competition Site”).
2. Timing
The Competition will take place on 28 October 2009, starting at 10 am Greenwich Mean Time (“GMT”) Zone and will end on 29 October 2009 at 10 am GMT (“Competition Period”). The Competition Period will run for a continuous 24 hour period.
Prior to the Competition starting, participants are required to attend an orientation session and play a practice session of the Game. The orientation will take place on 27 October, 2009 at 2 pm. Any participant who does not attend the orientation session will not be eligible to play the Game in the Competition.
3. Restrictions on Eligibility to Participate in Competition
Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Only those individuals who have been given an invitation to participate will be permitted to play. Potential participants must present positive ID as well as their invitation documentation in order to be seated at the Competition. Employees of Electronic Arts Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, as well as members of their immediate families of each such employee, are not eligible to participate in the Competition.
4. How to Participate
Upon arrival at the Competition Site for the orientation, all confirmed and verified participants will be placed into teams of four (4) people, based upon their country of residence, or as determined by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to create teams of fewer than four (4) people, and/or to create teams of participants from different countries of residence, if the total number of participants does not allow for each team to have four members from the same country. Sponsor’s decisions as to team membership are final.
At the orientation session, participants will receive precise instructions on how the Competition will proceed, including specifics on character selection, point scoring, timing, and locations. Participants must comply with all such instructions, as well as these Official Rules, to be eligible to participate in the Competition and win any prize.
During the orientation session, the team will select a character to play. This character will be the team’s character for the entire Competition Period. Teams will play through the introductory phase of the Game during the orientation session in order to familiarize themselves with the controls. All points and achievements earned during the orientation session will not be counted in determining Competition scores.
Once the Competition Period begins, the teams will play the Game against one another during a 24 hour period. Each team will designate the order of play for their team members, and each participant will take a turn playing the Game. Teams will earn Competition points based upon the following criteria:
* Main character level
* Experience points of main character
* Total party kills
* Percentage of game explored
* Percentage of game completed; and
* Number of codex entries discovered
The weights given to each of these criteria will be described at the orientation session.
At regular intervals, the Competition will pause and lower-scoring teams will be eliminated. When there are only two teams left, the final two teams will play against each other for the grand prize. The team that is not eliminated at the end of the Competition Period will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner.
5. Cheating, Abuse and Disorderly Behavior
Any entrant may be disqualified immediately from this Competition and, at the discretion of the Sponsor or its designees from further competitions of Sponsor for any failure to comply with the Sponsor Terms or for any cheating, including:
