Saludos

To answer a few concerns -
We're testing a server update with next patch. If that goes well, we've eliminated one of our last remaining major obstacles.
With that in mind, Strongholds are making great progress otherwise - the extra times been worth it, as we sort out building blocks and server load.
So stay tuned! We'll update you as SOON as we have more concrete info about Strongholds.
Dev Diary, 3/1
This week we want to talk about a very exciting feature that's going live in Tuesday's patch, Skills!
Skills
There are currently 3 active skill trees, with 2 more coming soon.
The trees you can currently spec into are:
Physical
This tree focuses on your developed prowess in a post apocalyptic world.
The affected attributes are hardiness, endurance, and stamina, allowing you to shrug off more damage, sprint for longer periods, carry more, and recover swiftly while resting.
Survival
Its been five years since the Event, and you've had to survive. Against all odds, you're still breathing, and this tree reflects why.
Mending wounds, coping with minimal food and water, stalking your prey, moving through the world - these are all things you've had much practice with, and the most skilled of survivors can move through zombies without ever being seen.
Weapons
A huge part of making your way through the world has been using the weapons at your disposal efficiently and effectively. In this tree you'll find skills reflecting this fact.
How does it work?
You start from a central hub, highlighted in the screenshot below.
From here you have (currently) 3 trees to level into - to learn a skill you must spend the indicated amount of XP, ranging from 100 to 20,000 XP. While you can learn skills in any tree, you have to learn the skills in order.
Meaning that you have to progress down the trees linearly, as indicated by the arrows.
The trees allow players to specialize in, say, healing over weapons, but its entirely possible to learn all skills in all trees, if you play enough.
Repair and Weapon Degradation
You'll see 2 trees in this menu with question marks as icons - these are the skill trees for Repair and Weapon Degradation.
For obvious reasons, these trees will not be available until the features themselves are out.
