Sony has not yet confirmed when its next State of Play event will take place but several sources have suggested that Sony is planning to host its PlayStation showcase sometime soon. In July, business analyst Robert Serrano, who has correctly leaked Sony event dates before, tweeted that the next State of Play would take place on August 12, ahead of Gamescom 2021, and would contain updates on God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and PSVR 2.

According to Jarvis, a State of Play stream could be happening on Thursday, August 19, if these rumors prove to be true. As for what would be on tap in such an event, Jarvis said that PlayStation would opt to talk more about Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Gran Turismo 7, and would reveal an official delay for Horizon Forbidden West. In addition, one "surprise announcement" was said to be in the cards as well.
https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/plays ... 021-rumor/Not only is Sony likely to announce the event on August 17, but it'll likely outline what to expect at the showcase. For example, many fans would likely be delighted to see both Horizon Forbidden West and God of War there, but that's unlikely. Sony has done a good job managing these expectations with each announcement, so if one of these won't be there, then that'll likely be announced too. Of the two, Horizon Forbidden West is due for some attention, especially since Sony has yet to confirm the reported Q1 2022 delay.
