Assetto Corsa - Behind The Scenes
A sensible part of development of a product rests in a dusty "wishlist workbook". There are A-LOT of things that would be great to do but that for different technical reasons can't be added, expecially when you develope a game like Assetto Corsa that isn't a "one-shot" release but an ongoing process: so, when you develope a new feature, then you need to keep it working regardless of the other features you develope after (and sometime - if not usually - some new features tend to interferer with the previous ones). Not to mention that, while not rarely some studios hire people "just" to work on very minor details, our core team manages by itself any single aspect of the game. Therefore, sometime, expecially in the past, we have not been able to go deeper with some minor features just for a matter of time, because of most important features that have the priority (and you can imagine already some users complaining because instead to feature 10,000 new content and features and care the cancer in the spare time we waste time with "useless" -by their point of view - things, like when they say "WE want": forgetting that even little features actually are a contribution to make a videogame...However, nevermind).
Some of these features just add some depth or fun/entertainment factor to the game. The new build 1.7 recovers a little part of the work done ages ago, performing a new camera set when you launch a session, since we want the car welcomes you before you get in.
Now: working with the guys on the new website for Assetto Corsa (stuck to the early access, I know you can blame me for that) that will be ready "Soon" TM, I've found a screenshot grabbed more than one year ago -if not 2- showing one of the features we'll NOT have (take note for AC2 in 2030). The driver adjusting his helmet and gloves before to get in. Nothing "crazily" special, but it was funny. Sadly, it would have generated lot of issues with 3rd party cars, tracks, multiplayer, and so on.
Next time we'll do it better. For this time, enjoy the wallpaper..
BTW, before you complain about "Stig-White-Suits" we have now in AC, some interesting news will follow "soon" TM.
Parece que al fin (aunque al principio dice que no lo veremos xd) van a meter las animaciones del piloto entrando en cada coche (era algo que estaban planeando desde antes del Early Access pero al final no lo metieron en el juego)
